Pak Vs Aus

lads, calm down and lets not turn this thread into one of indo/pak fight.

ehsan, on a second thought this can be the launching pad for Australia's pounding of the Indian masala dossa on Saturday. It may also serve as a prelude to March 1st. What do you say mate?.

Lahori Munda - Once again no need to take your frustration on us. Would you guys be happy If we tell that Afridi is the best batsman in the world or Waqar is the smartest captain, Razzaq is the best all rounder on the earth ?
[/QUOTE]

Dude get a life.. I didnt say Afrdi is the best batsmen... I never mentioned Waqar or Razzaq in my reply.. and secondly I was replying to AQ ... not taking my frustration out on your nanhi si jaan.

I wish I had seen Ponting's face when Waqar won the toss and asked Aussies to bat. Ponting's jaw must have hit the floor and he would be thinking "What an idiot this guy is!!!!" Dang!

OK.Sorry He is slightly better than tailender. yes tailender dont have average of 20s but then Openers also dont have average in 20s… He is a misfit.

As for Happines.. I am definitly not Happy with AUS win..seriously I wanted PAk to win and kick some Ass.

talking about India… I know You guys have already made plans for Briyani…But frankly speaking we dont expect a win either…Out expectations are pretty much set…You will never find us running a thread months before the match… and posting temprature, humity at ground or counting hours … SO please invited me to Briyani party or Kabab party whichever you have…

You know what, Afridi might get picked after all to play against Namibia - if it comes down to run-rates to decide who goes through to the super sixes we need to hammer the weaker teams as much as possible...

Just dont say it because he is an Indian.Give examples...

Man AQ, you are right. Why are Indian fans so pessimistic about their team?. I mean I play cricket with Indians and they made a bet with me on India not making it to the super sixes. I think India will make it along with Aus and Pak. So, if India makes it, I win $100.

But AQ, I am sure there are other forums where the majority is Indian and some did build up the atmosphere for weeks if not months.

india is a good solid team and if you take away their performances in new zealand - they have been playing some sensational cricket over the last 12 months.

on the other hand, pakistan has been consistently losing to everyone for over two years now.

india certainly has what it takes to get to the semis - because i believe that their batsmen have more courage and mental toughness than the Pakistani batsmen.

Rahul Dravid, Gnaguly and Tendulkar are the kind of players who are mentally tough and thats not one player in the Pakistani batting line up who can claim to be as tough as either of them either mentally or physically.

Well first of all in all fairness I think Ganguly is a slightley better captain than Waqar. Though sometimes it seems he doesnt really deserve a place in the side. I mean a captain is suppose to lead from the front, and I dont think Ganguly has been able to do that.

As for Pakistan loosing to every team they played... thats a wrong statement, after all we did win the series against Australia in Australia.. then hammered Zim in Zim.... Its just a matter of us playing cinsistent cricket. We have produced good results but not on a regualr basis.

They are not pessimistic .They ar ejust realistic.Unlike others . ;)

whata shame, now we were there with all the BEST that we had and we got whipped again, just one more to the list. and our "class batsmen" who were supposed to be the anchor in our batting line were in haste so they don't get a cold cup of tea. "6" and "27" are not the scores to reach a target of 300+. An unkown person comes and hits the "world class" attack to score 140+ in 125 balls.

Look at that last ball Waqar was allowed, an almost direct hit at the head of batsman - that really shows how "cool and calm" he was.

Our chances of getting to Super Six are only if we can beat India. Otherwise, wait for another luck like in 1992.

Well, I was watching Javed Miandad's commentry on Ten sports after the match. I think he is THE authority in cricketing terms alongwith Imran Khan. And he said that I agree with the team selection and the decision to go with Afridi as in Australia against Australia they played with lone spinner Afridi and he did a pretty good job Saqlain has lost his bite just a little bit. Pakistanis are really impatient. After each defeat they start mentioning 'coud have beens'. There are 6 matches to go and we need to win 5 of them, but it doesnt mean that Pakistan didnt commit any blunders today. The main positive came out of the match is the way pakistani huddled around each other and supported each other. Today wasnt thier day. The only change in the team required is bringing Saeed back. No need for drastic changes. And had we batted first and lost. ppl would have argued that why waqar bated when wicket had so much juice, yo cannt satify everyone. Inzi should bat at number 3 etc etc

And i m sure had we batted first and lost, everyone would have sweared at Waqar for not bowling first inspite of perfect bowling conditions and rain last night.

How many times have we successfully chased a target? and that against Australia?

I don't even need to say a word about today's match. It's already been discussed quite a lot.

I'm sure Pakistan can afford to make it to the Super Six. Although, chances of Pakistan actually winning this world cup are close to nil.

All those pre-wc03 celebrations back home were nothing, but a waste of money. All it did was give Pakistan team a false hope that they're actually capable of winning big games. Pakistan team did not deserve any special treatment before hand especially after the way they lost the last wc99 final .

sighz

I hope Pakistan manages to defeat India this WC, inshAllah. Rest of the games don't matter much to me because I'm quite positive that Pakistan will not be able to win the World Cup or the games against the better teams.

ps. btw... how can anyone ever rank an inconsistent team #1 in the world?

how many times aginst Australia have we batted first and gave them a worthwhile target when conditions are bowlng friendly??

My point is there are always counter arguments, ifs and buts. Lets not be impatient. Insha’allah we will go far then first round and super sixes. But if we lose God Forbid, we will ponder together.

Asif i know and agre TEndulkar point was uncalled for but show wisdom Guys, we ARE frustrated but dont go beyond constructive criticism and avoid calling names.

all i can say is that WASIM IS STILL THE MAN....n WAQAR SHOULD NOT BRAG ABOUT THEIR BOWLING ...he said that "aussies pakistan ki bowling se dar rahe hein" just say stuff like ponting that we'll work hard but its gonna be tough...n IDIOTS...WHEN U WON THE TOSS WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU BAT SECOND WHEN U'VE ALMOST NEVER CHASED A GOOD TARGET.....BS

Saby,

I don't think that Afridi or Razzaq bowled that badly today, just that their bowling was suited for Symonds and he was allowed to enjoy himself for too long against them. It needed Wasim or Shoaib to blast him out of there while he was still unsure of himself. If Afridi had got a chance to slog their change bowlers he'd probably have had a great time as well. Bad decision-making can make all the difference in a tight contest.
