Is scoring 220 runs a good score to have generally speaking?
You can not call 220 a bad score. I'll call it a fighting score. It most certainly is defendable if you have quality bowlers who get good support from the fielders.

absolutly no planning from waqar. Over rate was too slow, so he had to use Afrida/Khan. They were mad expensive. Razzaq was expensive. Waqar had no other choice. blah blah blah… 
person to blame Afridi/Razzaq/Waqar… If you really look at it, our batting line up didn’t do you know. whole team should be blamed.

Chaltahai - 220 used to be a good score in 80s. Now 300+ is considered a good score but sometimes even that is not enough.
The decision to bowl first was a risky one considering we've never been great chasers but it almost came off. When they were 86-4 the Oz commentators were virtually holding up the white flag. Symonds has hardly scored any runs lately and I reckon he's just a flat track bully who can murder mediocre bowlers.A bit like Afridi. At that stage it was crucial to go for the jugular and finish them off while they were wobbling but Waqar stuck on Afridi and Razzaq and virtually played them back into the game. Razzaq's bowling has been ordinairy for some time now and Afridi can come off sometimes but when it wasn't working the captain took too long to bring back Shoaib. Waqar didn't even bowl a full spell while allowing Younis Khan and Afridi to continue to get clobbered. How do you rationalise that?
Well, Whoever decided to play Afridi ahead of Saeed Anwar and Azhar Mehmood must be a genius. Also Pakistan team management should not count on Razzaq as a full time bowler. They should have thought about having a sixth bowler. Another thing Pak team bowled 21 wides and no balls - that means pak team actually bowled 3.3 over more...

For any team to chase a score in excess of 300
- They must score min 100 runs in first 15 overs
- One top order batsman must play at least 40 - 45 overs (runs > 100)
I think there is no point in blaming Pakistan team...the reality is Aus is too good for any side... I bet they would have done the same w/ South Africa!

Aussies are good but not unbeatable. We turned them over in their own backyard twice last year. And they were definitely struggling today with their best batsmen gone. I can guarantee you that SA would never have given 143 runs to Symonds.
im glad i went to sleep - though i did witness a mediocre player like symonds sluaghter supposedly the worlds best bowling attack.
you know,waqar's lack of skills as a captain were fully exposed today..first he played afridi ahead of saqlain...secondly he played razzaq ahead of azhar mahmood who has an excellent record in south africa. afridi sucks against everyone except sri lanka and bangladesh.he should be carrying drinks for the rest of the tournament. saeed anwar is needed badly and he should open the innings with taufiq umer.
anyway, pakistan are in trouble...they'll struggle to beat england and india has the legs on them in the world cuop....
one thing is for sure the likes of afridi and razzaq should be carrying drinks for the rest of the cup and people like inzamam and youhana and younis need to get some guts and score against top sides.

Positives
1.The way Pakistanis worked the Aussie Top order out, Bowled well to them, sepcially to glishrist and hayden. Bowled to his so called waekanesses. Means there IS some thought going on in team strategies.
The first 30 overs of the match belonged to Pakistan.
There were signs that Waqar was concuslting his senior playes like Inzi and Wasim a lot.
The late order fight back from Rashid and Wasim showed that aussies can be put under pressure by intelligent hitting. There was some really good hitting from both of them. That nade the margin of loss from 150-odd to 82 runs.
Negatives
Razaaq and Afridi didnt bowl well at all.
Waqar didnt go for a kill and immediately bring Shoaib or Wasim to dismiss Symonds.
two to three top order batsmen made 20-30, Had anyone of them went on, who knows, with the kind of hitting we saw from Rashid and Wasim, anythning was possible.
With Waqar as the captain you can forget about winning the cup, we'd be lucky if we make it to super 6.
