Any sane person will dismiss these baseless allegations, without any proof or evidence. They've jumped to the conclusions that they are under attack by Pakistan yet again, just in time When Obama visit is a few weeks from now. I'm not surprised. I think we had seen this coming. with BJP govt who thrived on Pakistani hatred through out their election campaign and their media known to be obsessed with Pakistan. This was bound to happen. Today this news is the headline of their newspapers and tv shows, because this is what sells there. They are all paranoia, create climate of fear and hatred in the hearts and minds of people that Pakistan is the biggest threat to India and attacks like 26/11 will happen again. and look how efficient and capable we're is that we averted the first attack. but beware as per RAW there will be more such attacks in the future. I mean seriously what more can we expect from a hostile neighbour like India? I have been critical of Pakistani media and govt in the past, but frankly speaking, at least our media and govt does not thrive on Indian hatred, we don't use these pathetic tactics during our election campaign, neither our media indulge in such nonsense. and That says alot about us. But sadly it happens so much on the other side, that it comes to a point where you don't feel upset or angry, these things become laughable. We have so much on our hands right now, domestic terrorism, We 're at war, our schools are closed, country is on high alert. but heyyyy we will make our lives even more difficult and start mindless aggression against our oh so friendly n saint neighbour. I mean seriously? How things are looking at the moment, I see this War-mongering and baseless allegation continuing for the next 5 years BJP is in govt.... Let's see how our govt and army respond to this rubbish.

Stupid. Modi is a war monger, and hates muslims and hates Pakistanis, it’s that simple. There are a whole class of classless hindus like this guy. Similarly, there are muslims who are out there to create trouble too. This is just an example where hatred gets the better of people, and countries, and administrations.
And all that happens is some dude who was trying to smuggle booze into Karachi gets killed. Booze. They only wanted a good drink.

Wait...wait...the same kind of denial was in place right after 26/11 attack.It would have been in place permanently had Mr.Kasab not been caught alive.After that it was denied that Mr.Kasab was a Pakistani citizen but eventually when confronted with evidence,Pakistan had to accept the fact.So let us keep our fingers crossed. :)

How about they update that rubbish with the first point being that it was a horrible hoax, and how utterly stupid their knee jerk reaction made them look?
I can't believe this is supposed to be India's better newspaper, but alas, it makes Western crappy right wing tabloids look more bearable, simply because none of them claim to be respectable and parapet of perfect journalism.
Good thing that while the Indian media and Indian government was going absolute berserk with propagating lies and hatred, none of Pakistan authority or high ups bothered dignifying their drama with any comment. Seems like they couldn't be bothered at all.

I am still trying to find Pakistani version of this rather bizarre story but looks like Pakistanis have decided to completely ignore this story. I must say that the Indian version of the story has many loose holes as accepted by indain express. see dawn 's latest coverage below

NEW DELHI: A suspected Pakistani boat claimed by India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party to be on a terror mission exploded in the Arabian Sea on New Year’s eve following a chase, but the **Indian Express reported on Friday that the vessel seemed to be on a [routine smuggling trip](http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-others/little-evidence-of-terror-link-may-have-been-petty-smugglers/) when it was intercepted.
“Less than 48 hours after the Coast Guard destroyed a boat it claimed was ferrying explosives and terrorists from Pakistan into Indian waters, new evidence has begun to emerge that the victims of the operation might have been small-time liquor and diesel smugglers, ferrying bootleg cargo from the port of Gwadar to other fishing boats which were to have carried it into Karachi’s Keti Bandar harbour,” the Express said, quoting unnamed sources.**
It said there was also a suggestion of use of disproportionate force since the fishing boat did not have an engine capable of outrunning Indian interceptors.

Highly-placed government sources, however, said the intelligence had no link to terrorism, and made no reference to any threat to India, according to the paper.
Instead, the sources told the paper, the National Technical Research Organisation had intercepted mobile phone traffic involving small-time smugglers operating out of the fishing port of Keti Bandar, near Karachi.
The report, the sources said, was issued directly to the Coast Guard and Navy by a mid-level NTRO official in violation of systems, which mandate that any possible threat must be shared with all relevant services, including the Intelligence Bureau, the Research and Analysis Wing, and the Border Security Force.
Accusing Pakistan of repeatedly aiding terror activities in India, however, the BJP on Friday said it reflected “frustration” of the neighbouring country and complimented the armed forces for foiling a bid similar to the 26/11 terror attacks off the Gujarat Coast.
The party also lauded “the alacrity” displayed by the forces in foiling the bid and said it was a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi giving more powers to them in dealing with terror activities of its own instead of looking up to Delhi.
In a midnight operation in the high seas, a Pakistani fishing boat said to be carrying explosives was intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard off the coast of Gujarat, but the vessel exploded and caught fire before sinking along with four occupants, Press Trust of India said.
“This is yet another attempt by a frustrated Pakistan in aiding terror activities in India, as it has been continuously aiding and exporting terrorism to the world.
“BJP compliments the armed forces for foiling such an attempt as they displayed perfect coordination in tackling terror activities. This also demonstrates Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership of empowering the forces to deal with any such situation on their own,” BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, other Indian reports said Pakistan-based terrorist groups are continuously trying to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir by taking advantage of cross-border firing as they aim to carry out “spectacular attacks” ahead of US President Barack Obama’s Republic Day visit to India, according to security agencies.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday accused Pakistan of trying to push terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir and giving cover to such attempts by continuous firing along the border.
“No doubt about that,” Mr. Singh told reporters in New Delhi when asked whether the repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops were to cover infiltration attempts by militants.

Why would Pakistan army open another front with the Indians when they are busy fighting TTP. It is ridiculous to say that. Could it be that the Indians have opened this front to provide relief and divert Pak army away from TTP in order to provide relief to their operatives there.

well the second part of your post is speculative and while it is a plausible theory, i dont know if it is right for sure...maybe it is or maybe it is not.
but the first part of your post is spot on and it is not a theory but it is a hard fact and is something what our indian friends need to understand and digest. This is very important.
Instead of coming up with all kind of plausible theories, indians shd understand that the reason Pak army is not showing an equally harsh reaction on its eastern border and is exercising restraint for so many months is because Pakistani army is fully indulged in fighting against TTP and cannot afford another front on its eastern border. That is precisely why pak is asking for neutral observers to come investigate who is committing heavy shelling.
Did our Army employ heavy artillery shelling in past to push fighters into kashmir? i am sure we did especially in 90s but are we doing it right now? no way....we will be most stupid to do it now. we are fully involved against TTP and that is something Indians are not understanding ....they are still living in their old bubble believing whatever their govt will tell them. BJP came in power on "act-hard against bloody pakistan" slogan and they want to make sure they always have that card in hand to show to public to camouflage their poor performance.
