Scenarios to save match
1) South Africa bat for atleast 2 more days... then all Pakistan have to do is to survive 1 day ( least possible)
2) Rain for rest of 3 days ( least possibility)
3) South Africa gets out with the lead of 200 Max and Pakistan chases it ( day-dreaming at its best)
4) South Africa plays 3rd day, get a lead of 300 and then Pakistan chases it
is there any other scenario?

This was always on the cards, the morning dew and the new ball contributing to Pak's demise. The batting subsided in familiar fashion after reaching a promising 176 for 2. Their capitulation (8/72) was similar to SA's (8/73) on the morning of day 2. SA now firm favourites to win this test

True.
And I would add that given the current state, too much hope should not be put on Pakistan as far as TESTs. We know that the current middle order has been in flux and somewhat out of practice, since YK just came back from a long lay off, MoYo out to injury, Misbah being Misbah (looking out of form and rusty), Azhar taking too long to long to score, Pakistan needs time to show some toughness in the middle order.
I think the current line up needs only the addition of MoYo, while Pakistan can keep rotating Azhar and Umar in the same 4 down position. Also they need a good quick to pair up at the top.
Why not try Tanvir A. next match and see how he does? or Sami is always ready and willing...

Are you kidding, rotate Azhar and Umar? Umar needs to sit out longer, he hasn't showed hunger for runs or value for his wicket. Azhar on the other hand has all the patience and hunger needed for tests (atleast for now). Umar had great start to his career but like all other 'wonders' he is losing it fast, he may stick around the team like Imran Farhat based on his connections (i.e. Kamran Akmal).

Why Asad Shafiq not tried in tests. Umar Akml is no a test player.

Pakistan still can win this match provided the bowlers bowl accurately and the batsmen stay on the crease for as long as its necessary to win the match…

^^ Maybe I wasn't clear. I am not professing that both are equal. What I meant was that if they (captain and coach) are REALLY dying to play Umar, they should only do that at the cost of Azhar and no one else such as dropping an opener or not including Moyo or Younis. Otherwise, I agree Umar definetely needs to go back to the basics in Pakistan or better yet get a aussies provicial side or english county side stint and get some temperant training done over there.
Yes Azhar is definitely a better class than Umar so far. Umar however, performed when the side was being led by a submissive mind who made a mess of the trip down under. So he can't be completely written off.
