Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
I think, arrival of Sarfraz on crease and showing aggression, changed the attitude of Shafiq batting for better.
I think Sarfaraz has taken your advice and took some Salajeet and Majoon... :)

Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
The following should put the other 5 to shame:
33.6
Craig to Asad Shafiq, SIX, the flight and drift that Craig produces has been threatening, but Pakistan are counterattacking just as well. Shafiq has raced down and though he didn't seem to the pitch of this flighted ball outside off, he lifted it and went through with the shot confidently enough that the ball sails over the long-off boundary. That's the fifty partnership in 39 balls

Sarfraz is fast becoming our premium batsmen.

Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
On this track completely defensive cricket will not work. 5 fielders around the batsmen will make their life tough. Pakistan should play normal cricket, should not take unnecessary pressure.
some strokes from Shafiq and Sarfraz and they have defensive field not attacking. They should send Sarfraz up in the order. Anyway, this is a lesson learnt for them especially in ODI with this strategy they are simply lose the series badly.
Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
look at the line and length of NZ pacers, on other hand Talha was just bowling like a 3rd class club bowler.
Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
Lots of chances for Sarfraz

Sodhi to Sarfraz Ahmed, no run, dropped at first slip by Taylor! It got big of Sarfraz as he was going back to a length ball to try and guide it to third man. But it kicked off the surface and became too much for both batsman and fielder

Shafiq Fifty ![]()
Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test

Boult to Asad Shafiq, FOUR, **fifty for Shafiq, and it comes off a slash over third man. Length ball well outside off and he was looking to cane it over the covers. The force behind the shot is enough that the outside edge soars over the cordon

Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
Lots of chances for Sarfraz
Well, they say that luck sides with braves. :)
Anyhow, at this stage when Pakistan lost first 5 wickets and more than one and half day left ... there is/was very little chance to draw, unless Pakistan had Hanif Mohammad and Muddasar nazar on crease. :).
So, in this situation, best is to hit out, show positive attitude in the batting, and get out if that happens. :)
