NZ will look to bat just once. They already lead by some 250 runs. Their is no point in delaying.
Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
I think, best Pakistan can do is look for a draw now. To bat, cover the deficit and then give a target to get NZ out within that target is a remote thing to think of. Plus, Pakistan has already won a test, that means, if draw than Pakistan win the series.
Now, I think here captain should use his marble. If I was captain, I would have put a very defensive field and told my bowlers to bowl tight, not to take wickets but to keep the runs flowing as slow as possible. Idea would have been, NZ do not lose wickets but keep playing and making runs as slowly as possible. Actually, runs also do not matter, but if NZ make runs fast then even if they do not lose wickets they could declare, and my purpose would have been that they declare as late as possible. I would consider that they are playing for Pakistan if they keep playing slowly. For instance, if they play by tomorrow lunch time and gives whatever target, target should not make any difference, as Pakistan would need to play remaining time. So, longer the declaration or longer NZ keep playing the better. Each maiden or low run overs bowled by Pakistan, Pakistan achieve its target of drawing the match.
you do know that there is still 6 more sessions to go! right? And Pakistani team was bowled out by Craig!!!
The game is out of Pakistan's hand... the best they can do is to bat for draw... some thing which need temperament of Mohd Yousaf... there is still 180 overs to go... the lead is already 250+...
Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
On wicket where Southe is hitting sixes like anything.. hope our batsman can simply play along...
Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
Misbah has defensive field but bowlers are unable to stop runs.

We has very small rain in the morning but no way. I was afraid from Sharjah test from the start of the series.
Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
with this mind set, it would be miracle for Pakistani batsmen to survive two sessions
Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test

Mohammad Hafeez to Southee, 1 run, dropped! Oh, Zulfiqar Babar, what have you done? It's tossed up outside off and he goes for another big hit. Zulfy has the simplest of catches coming in from the long-on boundary and it drops straight into his hands and plops straight out

it was dangerous wicket when we were batting... now all of the sudden it is batsman's paradise... and wait it takes out all the demons and devils once pakistan comes back to bat
Re: Pak V NZ - 3rd Test
i guess they waiting for the 50 of both southee and craig
Terrible test for Babar and Talha. They can't do anything right.
I still can't believe Pakistan lost 7 wickets for 60 odd runs on this pitch.

It was lapse of concentration I guess, there wasn't much in bowling. A lead of 286 already, they will want to play until lunch tomorrow to extend the lead to 400 but now chances are bleak for that. Pakistan will then have 5 sessions to level the lead, and then the build lead. Lots of work for our batsmen on 4th-5th day pitch.
