The only way Pakistan can win is to get out early (yes I know it will give us all heart attacks) setting a target of 200-220 in 40-45 overs so that Kiwi players will take some risk. Obviously then there is also a good chance of Kiwi victory.
as I said earlier this is the only way we can win this game. Kiwi on the other hand will also have an advatage of taking bad light offer if there is a batting collapse while chasing this target.
New Zealand commentators are a disgrace -- i was especially disgusted by their comment that if they get the final wicket in that over ( a few balls before they eventually did), they just have to chase 200 odd runs and then it will be like a one day match.
It's not because I am a Pakistan team fan, but because I am cricket (and Test Cricket) fan that I am especially disgusted by that comment. These commentators have gone overboard in their zeal for supporting New Zealand and have forgotten that chasing 200+ in 40 overs at 5+ runs per over, on a 5th day pitch, in a TEST match where there are no fielding restrictions, no easy wides, no problems with negative bowling, no bowler quotas, it is NOT the same as a one day game.
New Zealand may win this if they are lucky, but it's not becuase it's just like a one day game. There is more to Test cricket. Unlike an ODI game, Pakistan actually has the option of going negative (if need be) and avoid a defeat. You can't have a draw in an ODI game, but a Test match has three results.
Commentators ought to be better than pedestrians on the street!
Totally agreed. They need to come down from cloud 9
Though not impossible the runchase ain't gonna be easy for the reasons you've rightly mentioned above
Guys ...relax ..thanda pani poo ..think of them as 2 more NZ supporters ..thats it ...
but yeh I have never seen commentator who are so desperate that they have figured out 101 ways for NZ to win but have yet to talk about what Pakistan need to do ...
ball went to Faisal Iqbal and Akmal said "welldone faisal yee cheez" ...faisal ...was about to throw it back to akamal ...but akmal was like "na na ruk ziada phurtiaan na dekha" :)
