England are more susceptible to be panic stricken than Pakistan if a couple of wickets fall down in quick succession. They are especially nervous about plaing Kaneria and AFridi, while we didnt have much trouble playing Panesar. So if Sami and Gul can somehow get a couple of wickets, we are in a good position to unleash Kaneria on them.
Not only that, short and wide, either side of the batsman, alternately. This is why I say, it doesn't matter how many wickets he may get on his good day, a bowler that bowls on both sides of the batsman in nearly every over is absolutely rubbish!
Strauss sends a short-and-very-wide (not just wide) christmas gift to point boundry. Even England batsman know which bowler to go after when chasing widish deliveries.
Sami as usuall starts of with a trash over and got hit for a boundry and as usuall gets hit for another boundry in his 2nd over… seriously…is this all we got for fast bowlers in Pakistan after Rana, Shoaib, and Asif?
Getting hit is okay, every bowler gets hit. But bowling MULTIPLE lollypop deliveries in every over is not okay. The way Sami bowls, even Afridi786 would hit a couple of fours in every over facing him. And that is saying something.
Shoaib is fit already, but PCB wants him to get some 'match practice' first. i wish we could play him in the second test match. Asif is not going to be available for any of the tests, and Rana Naveed hasn't been too successful in tests either.
^ jokes aside, I hope Niazi or Nazir get a chance in the 2nd test match…they cant do any worse than Sami. Plus Nazir can bat a bit as well…certainly better than Sami.
Yep, Sami should not be included in the team himself, but should be used as a standard to judge whether a new bowler should be included in the team. Question should be, can this new bowler be worse than Sami? If the answer is no, bring him in!
I agree with Nasser Hussain's suggestion. Sami is better bowling his aggressive stuff. With new ball, we have more chances of ball being nicked, so bring your line and length bower (Razzaq) to bowl the new ball, and let Sami bowl next.
Commentators are absolutely right. With the wicket causing balls to die down, why aren't the bowlers aiming for the stump?? A ball outside off stump which doesn't bounce isn't exactly threatening to the batsman.
I think Sami could make good career by acting in bollywood movies as a villian...the one who kidnaps innocent girls....because he can forget about bowling career...or maybe he can become a coach...a coach who tells bowlers...this is NOT how you're supposed to bowl if you are to become a successfull bowler.
By the time Kaneria and Afridi come to bowl, Sami would have given 60 runs in 10 odd overs and Inzi will set a defensive field so pressure will not be on England.
Our bowilng in this match feels like India's bowling three years ago. Just going through the motions, there's nothing aggressive or entertaining about it. Sigh.
