Re: Pak to become 4th largest nuclear state at end of decade
^ Despite some inscrpancies there merey bhai you make a very fair point that Pakistan indeed has a very good track record and that rightly deserves respect.
Chernybol in Ukraine is the most memorable Nuclear accident, though fears are this new Japanese reactor disaster may surpass it, I pray not.
In America your right aside to the V class Bombers that fly carrying at least one of the old Pershing class Warheads they also have a site at Yuka Mountain in the Neveda desert I think though the Location is top secret so it could be in the Rockies for all I know... what I do know is that there have been many suggestions that the site is virtually unprotected and there have been some reports of leakage.
China has had several glitches with it's Missile system as has Russia both employ the "Deaths Hand" system a frighteningly epic system where if thier Homeland is targeted the whole countires secret Sillo's will unleash massive counter strikes against the offending nation... trouble with the "Deaths Hand" system is it can be triggered by Earthquakes and even commercial mining and although there are saftey measures they have been found wanting...
The UK has had some problems with Trident one of which was the "dissapearance" you mentioned and several have occured most of them within the Gibraltar Straits which provoked outrage from the Spanish...Not to mention that time when one Nuclear Submarine managed to beach itself. Then theres the Bombay black market boom when India lost or mispkaced a large quantity of weapons grade Plutonium I beleive...though how much was lost and wether they recovered the lot is not yet known.
Isreal has several Warheads of it's own some argue one of the largest caches however again in such a small and volatile country its not hard to find them and more worryingly Isreals Nukes are not neccasarily in an "armed" state and they failed to implement thier own "Deaths Hand" System so therefore they have quantities of Weapons grade material which is simply waiting for a suitable system as thier airforce lacks sophisticated carriers and thier Missile systems lack the numbers that Russia and America possesd in thier heyday.
After all that we can conclude that unless sophisticated First World technology or methodology is used the likes of Third World Terrorists and thier ilk wont get them. So relatively Pakistan is safe however nothing can really be safe in the World of Nukes hence why I pray this insult to humanity and mans valour is removed from our World.
Re: Pak to become 4th largest nuclear state at end of decade
Faris bhai you are right, nothing can really be safe in the world of nukes... same is the case with huge huge piles of conventional weapons, cluster bombs and daisy cutters and what not... only difference is the scale of destruction that can be achieved with relative ease of use... same is the case with drones, where one person sitting in an AC room with nothing to lose of his own flying a plane like in a video game ends lives of 100s of innocent people... there really is nothing safe in this world, nukes or no nukes...
but i'm all for nukes in this world given current state of weapons all the countries posses... and not only nukes, i believe we need a very good and reliable delivery system to use them, much much far reaching than the ones we currently have. that is really important to keep the enemies at bay, and make them think a thousand times before they do something like what they are doing currently... but all this will prove useless as long as we have traitors in our ranks, armed or civil.
Re: Pak to become 4th largest nuclear state at end of decade
Bhai Humanity does not deserve Nukes I will try and PM you about the Military drawbacks of Nukes… I know they seem like the best defensive Weapon but really I pray for a World without them… Nukes are Satans Toys as far as I’m concerned. Though your right with stockpiling instruments of destruction… thats also very unnessary but then again I’m being too pragmatic again… people in the Military definatley dont want to fight with spears and swords anymore so looks like I will be forever dissapointed unless a miracle happens…
Re: Pak to become 4th largest nuclear state at end of decade
Pakistan also happens to be the most secure state in terms of nuclear weapons. with no accident, and no theft. compare this to USA, where a fighter jet traverses almost the width of the country with a nuclear weapon attached to it without anyone's knowledge. compare this to russia's chernobel or whatever that was. compare this to india, where in bomby last year nuclear material gone missing and "public" was trading in it. and compare this to UK where one of their nuclear sub got missing for "half hour" and then reappeared. also compare this to a well discussed case of USA's nuclear weapon stolen by Israel...
Give me a break !! No news is not necessarily good news in case of Pakistan's nuke program.
Re: Pak to become 4th largest nuclear state at end of decade
I have explained you in detail and you are still going back to the first dot.
You have been skirting the main issue. Pls explain how lethargy by security agencies was responsible for the murder of the 3 leaders you mentioned since thats the basis of your argument for equating Indian nuclear security apparatus with that of Pak.

I have explained you in detail in my post how the security establishment was lethargic and callous in their attitude in providing security to the leaders. Now you pls tell me what makes you think that other than security lapses or lethargy ,cost the lives of those leaders?
I am not equating Indian nuclear establishment with that of Pakistan.Where did I mention such a thing?

I am not quite sure I understand how Indira Gandhi & Rajiv Gandhi's conscious decision to take a calculated risk (which back fired) proves lethargy on the part of the security agencies. If anything, the security agencies were efficient and warned the two leaders about the possible danger. Are you sure you wanted to use the word "lethargy" in the first place ?
You are the one who brought up "Indian security agencies letheragy" when we were discussing nuclear security. If not this, then what point were you trying to make ?
Re: Pak to become 4th largest nuclear state at end of decade
Pakistan should be the leader in nuclear weapons development. Pakistan should have more nuclear weapons than all the countries combined together.
Pakistan shoudl also invest in Hydrogen bomb. Pakistan should also be a leader in developing Chemical and Biological weapons of mass destruction...
For this Pakistan should increase its defence budget hundred folds. Pakistanis should massively cut down on so called modern education.
People should be educated in Madrasas that are inexpensive to run rather than modern technical institutions.
Funds for roads, eletricity, should be diverted to development of Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles.
After all, Pakistan is the *Thekedar *of Islam. Pakistan needs to protect Islam from non Muslims.... Pakistan needs to allocate 90% of its budgets to weapons upgrade and its military.
Rest 10% should be allocated to train people in Madrasas, who are loyal to Islam and Pakistan.
Re: Pak to become 4th largest nuclear state at end of decade
The fall of USSR has nothing to do with nukes, they (Russia) still has enough to bury the world. Nukes are game changers, their purpose is to deter bullies/terrorist.

This calculated risk is just an oblique term.I would say there were enough and enough people close to Mrs Indira who could have convinced her or strategically placed an alternative.I believe never before Mr.s Indira's death, except for Gandhiji a high profile personality was assassinated in India and that made the the security wing to be complascent.
Mr.Rajiv was warned many times and his T.N campaign was not a calculated risk but as part of his massive 1991 campaign. It was the responsibility of the Sate Government and also the Central Agencies to provide him adequiate security. There are more stories relatd this assassination which I do not think I am permitted to talk on this forum.A clear sheer lethargy in the securiy system cost his life.
Same in the case of Mahatma Gandhi where he was assassinated again owing to the lethargy of the security agencies.Just a few days prior to his assassination another attempt was carried out on him and almost all the culprits were snared by police(including the Karachite Madhan Lal Pahwa). But the system was so lethargic and complascent that it helped two people Mr.Godse and Mr.Apte to slip away and come back and execute their plan in Delhi on that fateful day of 30th January 1948.
