Younis returns to Pakistan ODI side

It’s been two months since Younis Khan had furiously lashed out at the national selectors for dropping him from the ODI side, two months in which he has ransacked 717 runs in five Tests. The selectors simply couldn’t ignore the weight of those runs, and have picked him in the ODI squad for the first two matches against New Zealand.

Opening batsman Nasir Jamshed has also been recalled for the ODIs, while wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfraz Ahmed, who was prolific in the recent Tests, is back in the Twenty20 squad.

**Good to see Umar Amin dropped but cannot understand why Fawad Alam has been dropped.

Maqsood and Alam out? FFS. Excuse my language but PCB needs a chitrol. If they can kick those out for one poor series then why is Shafiq 26 average in ODI and Younus 33 in ODI, both perpetual failures even back in the side?

why does a retired horse [Umar Gul] keep coming back to torture the spectators of the matches?...looks like he got the biggest 'parchii'...he is worthless now and must be let go to bring in younger and more effective bowler.

Sohaib Maqsood and Fawad Alam out? This doesn't make any sense at all. I mean how do you keep a person with these stats out of the ODI team especially when the team lacks good batsmen:

Fawad Alam Out, Sohaib Maqsood out and got Umar Gul back in the squad... I say great selection, only PCB can do this...

Looks like we'll never see Abdul Rahman again. With wc just around the corner, Irfan, Junaid, and Rehman should be playing in the every match.

Brilliant selection. May be Fawad Alam should bring down his first class average below 40 to "impress" selectors.

Fawad Alam style and technique is not impressive at all.

He is coming low down in the batting order and does not really have a solid striking power

i guess he need to work really harder .....

Note : He is coming in place of great All rounders like Razzaq , Waseeem , Azhar

His technique may be unusual but it has been effective for him. Chanderpaul is a great batsman and his technique is unusual too. Unusual is not always bad.

He is not competing with Razzaq, Waseem, or Azhar for a place. He is competing with Haris Sohail, Bilawal Bhatti, Saad Naseem etc.

I was just lecturing guppies in PA to use muhazab language....so i guess i need to practice it as well.....otherwise i am so upset right now to see alam being left out......simply cant believe it......lakh dee lanat PCB selectors
