muhabatein theen kabhi apne dermian kitni…
bicha gaye hai anna hum mein doorian kitni…
abhi to toota hai dil hi teri judai mein…
girein gi hum pe abhi aur bijlian kitni…
I certainly agree with u, couple of other vital signs tunes were also stolen from 80s soft rock music. don't know all their names but I remeber "dayr ho gayee lot aao" from vital signs was stolen from a 80s hit by george micheal, can't remember the name of the song in english.
but its amazing how our musicians sing it in urdu which sounds perfect.
Sad...
If the same thing was being done by the Indians, it would be called 'inspiration' and if Junaid bhayee does it, its called 'stealing'.
I think there is a huge difference. People like Altaf raaja, Sajjad Ali, Anu Malik could be called stealers as they dont even bothering changing lyrics to the song and reproduce the song.
Unlike Songs produced by VS or Junaid, where they have worked on em real hard. Songs like "Samjhana" were inspired, but you can difinitely see that the band has worked really hard on giving the song originality.
By the Dil Dil Pakistan does not sound like the Airwolf theme. Go listen to it again Fraudia. And as far as "dare ho gayee" is concerned that song is inspired by a RAAG, I think it raag bhopali. And Raags are commonly used in many songs as they act as the back bones of songs. And I am very sure Raags came way before George Michael was even born!
I dont hear any AirWolf in Dil Dil Pakistan either.
The only one that I can think of from VS is "samjha na", copy of Red Red wine. There may be others though.
And the other day, i just saw this whacked out bollywood singer, with a complete album copied from that Barbie girl group. nothing entertaining in that.
But is this about Pakistani songs, or VS songs? Because vital signs have sung mostly originals compared to most others.
VS have lot of ripped of tunes from their early days … Sumjhana is probably the most obvious one .. there is a fine line between inspiration and rip off … and there are dime a dozen rip off bands and musicians .. Sajad Ali, etc. are lice who shamelessly live off of western pop … but VS and Junoon (the two main stream) bands are pretty much genuine … interestingly enough Eat the Rich by Aerosmith and Gori by VS have the same bass line (Gori was released before Eat the Rich) .. bass and rhythm are more often are pretty generic in pop music …
As far as Indian music .. well there is no argument to begin with .. its pure RIP OFF !! there is no talent .. either its DJs playing samples and loops which is always based on others creation or just plain simple copying of western tunes and add cheezy lyrics and you have Indian pop! If there is any to begin with
Hey one more thing
These things are hard to explain
For some it seems strange... to swallow
The frontier of our minds
Is the last place we find
But maybe the first place we should go
*** if u wud've started the Indian list, Your thread might have worked out!!
THERE IS ONE THING THAT U WANT, N THERE IS ONE THING THAT ALLAH WANTS,IF U WANT OF WHAT ALLAH WANTS, ALLAH WILL GIVE U WHAT U WANT..
"The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything."
"Wohi Hota Hai Jo Manzoorai Khudah Hota Hai"
The KiNG OF GUPSHUP
The different musical influences that musicians have, just as listeners, keep on creeping up in their own future works. The tunes that we we might have heard 15-20 years stay in our subconscious and I think this is the reason that why we can observe similarities in different songs.
It happens so frequently; you keep on playing something as your very own baby, only to realize later that its something that you heard (or did cover of) some time ago. Nirvana's smells like teen spirit seems to be based on one Jimi Hendrix tune or on one of The melvins' tune.
There is nothing wrong with taking tunes from another musician and converted into a much different song, thats what vital signs did, unlike the indians, they don't even bother changing the lyrics of the songs.
Remember the song "faith" which was originally sung by george micheal but then it was remade by limp bizkit into a heavy metal version of the song which was a big hit.
Alibeta, I never said there is anything wrong with stealing the music from another musician if you just change the lyrics.
Thank you, come again
