PAK-NZ ODI Series 2004

hell would be much better… so that he doenst return…

Maybe they should rest him for this series so that he is 100% fit for Pak-Ind series in March.
I don't really care if he went skiing or not, if he doesn't feel like playing in ODIs, send him home -just for this series though.

Shoaib fit for Christchurch

Third one-day international, Christchurch:
New Zealand v Pakistan, starts Friday 2300GMT

Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is fit to take on New Zealand in the third one-day international on Saturday.

Pakistan are on a high after their victory in the second match of five in Queenstown on Wednesday levelled the series at 1-1.

Shoaib missed the first two matches after being hit in the groin while batting in the nets without a box.

But he has since been seen bouncing across the sea on a jet-ski and is clearly close to full fitness again.

Pakistan coach Javed Miandad said: “He still has a problem but I’m sure he will be fit enough to play. It’s up to him.”

Shoaib took a match-winning 11-78 in the second Test between the two sides and the ball is likely to swing on the hard and fast Jade Stadium wicket.

Senior players Craig McMillan and Chris Cairns, who will be playing in front of their own fans, as well as Craig Cumming and Hamish Marshall, all need runs.

“Our top and middle order have got to step up and put together some partnerships of significance,” said New Zealand coach John Bracewell.

“They expect a lot more of themselves. They believe they need to step forward. You can’t launch a big score unless the top and middle-order do their stuff.”

Fleming was more blunt about the out-of-form senior players:

“It’s their responsibility to drive the team, and drive the game,” he said.

Azhar Mahmood could be the man to make way for Shoaib, with Mohammad Sami, Shabbir Ahmed and Abdul Razzaq are all giving the New Zealand batsmen cause for concern.

But they may feel such a move would weaken the batting.

The Black Caps could drop spinner Daniel Vettori, otherwise it would mean resting one of the in-form pair of Daryl Tuffey and Jacob Oram.

Shoaibii:hula:

Calm down people!
There is a huge difference between jet skiing, and bowling the way he does.
He is injured, but it doesn't mean that he should sit in the wheelchair and not have fun.
People make fuss of very minor things.

Maybe, but he should not be showing off when he is injured and not available for his country. What if he had fallen off the skis and broken an ankle or something. He is under contract to PCB while he is in NZ. He should be more careful. He cannot be injured and not avialable to play for Paksitan and at the same time start jet skiing with a risk of aggravating the injury.

NZ won the toss and elected to field. Inzi says good wicket to bat. Shoaib is back in the team today. Shabbir has been dropped.
