PAK-NZ ODI Series 2004

How one cricket session can change the attitude of all the Paki guppies. Suddenly Pakis are finding virtue in all their players. If Akhtar had not engineered that NZ collapse... Inzi would still be a dumb captain, Paki bowlers would still be making all rounders of NZ lower order batsmen, Razaqq would still be a moron...

Inzi is still a dumb captain, I don't think this notion has changed in any of guppies minds. Razzaq, Azhar are still ok bowler, not "Strikers" or really threatening.

The only reason "to cheer" for Razzaq and Azhar in this side-match is that they were able to "reverse swing" the ball. If they can demonstrate that in ODIs then they'll be in different bowler's class o/w they'll stay where they are. Razzaq couldn't do much with bowling in any of the tests.

There are moves to get Akram out here to school up our players in how to play reverse swing.

Akram seems to be in great demand these days by all countries except Pak (which says volumes about the current Paki pace attack).

Yasir
Taufeeq
Younis
Youhanna
Inzi
Abdur Razzaq
Moin
Malik
Sami
Akhter
Shabbir

is anybody going to broadcast the match??

then again razzler has never been a test great....
he has had a hat-trick in test cricket, but i dont think he has ever shown signs of being a good test bowler....

Inzi is still not revered by many in the role of a captain. Don't make any mistake about it. Razzaq is still an average bowler. The reason i highlited the part about his bowling was that he was getting sharp reverse swing which was troubling the batsman. If this continues throughout the ODIs then thats great for Pakistan. Moreover, are you sure Razzaq was called a moron? cuz I dont remember anyone saying that.

if plays a bigger part in cricket than just that....
if wasim akram had never played, pakistan wud not have won many matches....
if steve waugh had not scored so many runs no one wud be focusing on his departure....
so so so....

but somethings r destined to happen, no matter how much we hate them, and a billios of ifs can never change what has happened....

Who the heck are you? :konfused:

i second that :hoonh:

Is that so difficult to understand. Akram is being sought after by foreign boards to help their bowlers but not by his own country - Pakistan. Obviously the Pak board thinks their bowlers are good enough to not need Akram's services.... which may very well be true.

Of course it is difficult to understand when you use phrases with such negative connotations as "which says volumes about the current Paki pace attack", somehow expecting the readers to infer it in positive light. Thats ridiculous. I've never heard anyone use that phrase in a positive sentence.

Moreover, you should remember that Pakistan pace attack has been well groomed by Wasim AND Waqar, already. Sami and Shoaib both have played several matches alongside the two W's, AND have gone countless hours of practise in the nets. That is the reason today you see Shoaib and Sami bowling reverse swinging yorkers with the curvature of a banana, so reminiscent of Waqar and Wasim. The two W's coaching is not limited to the two S's either. I've watched an Umar Gul's interview where he said that the first time he came to bowl in the nets with PCB, he kept standing and watched Wasim Akram bowl. He said he was then scolded by the coach and asked to bowl and to quit staring at Wasim. Which essentially means that even the young lot that you see today has been bowling alongside Wasim in the nets and its only reasonable to conclude that they too must've received quite a bit of guidence from him. So I dont think the Pak. team needs a bowling coach as much as any other team, for the moment atleast. We could definitely use Wasim and Waqar's help when newer guys who have never bowled with Wasim or Waqar start coming up. Right now we'll let him fly around, take a break from the Pak. cricket politics and have some good ol' fun.

^ Oh well...That would probably be the first time I tried to say something postive about Pak bowling... turns out its not good enough.

Thats ok sweetie. Pak. bowling doesn't need your certificate to prove its worth. You can keep up your belligerent anti-Pakistan rhetoric. When you praise the Pak. cricket team, it sounds as odd as an elephant trying to balance itself on roller skates.
