PAF shoots down Indian drone near Kasur

By Sajjad Shafiq Butt

LAHORE: The Pakistan Air Force shot down an Indian drone near Kasur on Friday night, police sources said.

The spot is reported to be Rao Khan Wala Town, Raqba Amir Muhammad, Sattoki, some 7km from Raiwind towards Kasur. The plane, engulfed with flames, fell in the sugarcane fields near Haveli Dogran. Soon after the incident, Army personnel cordoned off the area. Villagers, cops, media men and intelligence officials rushed to the spot, but were not allowed to have access to the scene.

“The plane was short-sized like a helicopter and was engulfed with flames when it came down to the fields,” Kasur-based policemen quoted villagers as having informed them, initially. Talking to The News from Kasur, the SP’s staff officer said they got information about the incident at about 11:30pm.

Another Kasur officer also confirmed that it was an Indian drone, without a pilot. “However, we would be available to give more details after sometime,” he said. The IGP’s operator said Malik Asif Hayat was asleep, while the Operations AIG Kalb-e-Abbas was not present at his residence for comment.

Generalizations are generally wrong.

This again shows the provocative nature of the Hinduvta Leadership. This also shows the lies this ALLEGED 'responsible and democaritic' country had been telling the world and Armitage, about them being a peace loving nation and not wanting to provoke a war.

People of the world should understand, these Indians are nothing but war mongering people, whose Hinduvta leadership has only one design - kill the Muslims of Pakistan, Kashmir and India.

Good job Pakistan.. In related news, a MIG went down in Sirinagar…

Its like Deja Vu…
Is it just me, or is this becoming a trend?

Just read on BBC the Indians have admitted their plane being down …

Did someone see the pictures at Yahoo of the wreckage?!

I 'hate' to break the news to you Rvizk, but Pakistan is not going to 'announce' when it sends a SPY Plane!

Rvikz sure knows how to crack some...

Excellent news. If they violate our borders, this is what is going to happen. However this in no way lessens tensions. Infact it heightens them.

It is a pleasure to stand upon the shore, and to see ships tost upon the sea: a pleasure to stand in the window of a castle, and to see a battle and the adventures thereof below: but no pleasure is comparable to standing upon the vantage ground of truth . . . and to see the errors, and wanderings, and mists, and tempests, in the vale below.

To off set the balance Pak has invested heavily in air defence. Imgaine thousands of stinger/anza all over the place. The moment two Indian migs crossed the LOC in 99 they were history.

Abdali that is exactly what the Economist said. It said in diplomatic words, that if IAF attacked over the LOC, they would have to go through 4 lines of anti-aircraft defenses and mountain paths to reach the miltants camps. India would lose 100s of men and tons of planes. More than they lose on their own.

If any Migs or Mirage 2000's came over the border, I would be inclined to engage them with our own aircraft, have a dog-fight then shoot them down. This would send two messages :

  1. Don't think about coming into our territory, it ain't worth it.
  2. Our Airforce is ready and able to take on anyone, even if Israelis are flying the Mirages.

aaaawwww…poor guy is having a bad day, lets leave him alone…for now.

In the last mid-east war, Bhutto sent some PAF to help the Arabs. They shot down 11 Israeli planes without a single loss, prompting teh IAF chief to say that if the Arabs were as good as the Pakistanis, they would have lost the war.

What do u make of the words in bold???

IAF plane crashes
AFP reports from Srinagar, an Indian Air Force MiG fighter jet crashed Friday in Srinagar due to technical problems and the pilot sustained minor injuries, police said.
The plane crashed at the military wing of Srinagar’s main airport at 12:25 pm (0655 GMT), a police official said.
‘A technical snag erupted, which sparked fire in the jet,’ the official said.
‘The pilot ejected out before the jet crashed into the runway. He has received some injuries and he has been shifted to hospital,’ he said.
An Air Force spokesman in New Delhi, however, denied the pilot was hurt.
Indian fighter jets, which had been roaring over Srinagar since morning, stopped flights over the city after the crash.

taliban after shooting down few US drones thought that they have achieved capability to shoot down whatever they want, and now their pakistani brothers r thinking the same!

by the way, isnt it amazing, the drone reached so close to the 2nd largest city of pakistan, and THE great PAF detected it only when it penetrated deep inside the pakistani territory!

haha didnt you post that in the other indian media thread too? haha Indians comparing themselves to the US again... What a waste of skin...
