Another blow to superficial Indian “lobbying” in Washington, as they were whining about the imminent threat of Pakistan obtaining such high grade fighters.
Lo and behold! First 3 of the ordered batch of 16 (I think) have already arrive and stationed at Shahbaz Air Base.
With the induction of remaining F16s, and an already growing and maturing inventory of JF17s, I believe PAF is all set to rise of air superiority along with being able to match and/or surpass the abilities of neighbor adversary in terms of air defense/offense.
Rumors were these jets are bugged with a kill switch? What do you guys think? Would PAF have taken them anyways even with such a disability embedded in 'em? The PAF chief however says they are open to use against “any” adversary.
What I do not understand is why they would not provide the drones & the technology to Pakistan?? Is it because they are instructed by india not to? No, I mean really, indian control over American affairs (or even Pakistani affairs for that matter) through way of brainwashing & manipulation of American government officials should be a red alert for the american officials. They must try to get to the bottom of who in reality is running the american government. americans of indian origin or the indian government all the way from subcontinent?
india wants america to keep 'droning' Pakistani regions in order to radicalize the locals against the government which would likely create a civil war & unrest in Pakistan which would be a dream come true for india.

F16s are meant to be gap fillers, and measuring tools for further maturity of JF17. Also induction of F16 Blk 52 will allow PAF to participate in exercises with the European elite fighters like Tyhpoon, Gripen, etc. as well as Red Flag exercises.
There's no shame in learning from the less than desired "ally", but one thing is for sure, and that is that PAF reduced original order from 40+ to just 18 in the light of maintaining focus on JF17 which will be far more dependable in terms of sanctions, or other "bugs" which may have been installed on previous and current western tech that is in inventory, in the times of conflict with "mutual" allies.
So lets keep our perspectives straight. Whatever Zaid Hamid says, or does is his own business but don't use his shoulder to pass on your flawed view of the situation.

Amerika don't give a damn about dictators or democracies nor it it gives a shyt about India/Pak.. Its US interest that counts, these F16s (hope they don't come loaded with soy bean oil if you know what I mean) are a marriage of convienence. The bulk of future weapons systems procurement will be from China, e.g. JF-17... With Amreeka winding down in A-Stan in 2011 things are going to change a lot, for the better for sure. After all AMreeka only took 9+ years to realize that here are good taliban it can deal with.
18 F-16 Block 52s are the most reasonable way of studying Western technology. You cannot expect to walk away with that information with brochures. FC-20 is a maturing platform. PAF will have to wait for some years before it is available in the configuration that they desire. If PAF calculations are right it should be around the MKI mark of 4.0 to 4.5 Gen and that will take serious contributions of information from PAF and Chinese commitment to improve it for their own good as well as that of PAF. Block 52s are a necessity for "current" war on terror as well.

I think we need to make a quick march and have them by surprise, otherwise it would be difficult to seize the factories as the work force may runaway!!!!
looking at the advertisement and ceremony held, looked out of proportion for just 3 fighter planes. we were waiting for these 40 planes paid for by Pak, since eighties, its strange they cant deliver in one go to make some impact, rather kept these as bargaining chips, deliver 2 or 3 whenever there is bit of pressure from Pakistan.

First of all drone attacks should be banned...you want drone attacks to be banned and at the same time you want the drone technology.
Pak Fauj is getting billions of dollars of aid, in return US wanted access to Pakistan to carry out their "war" on terror.......Initially US wanted its army to carry out ground missions in Pakistan.....but Pak fauj rejected that proposal as American army boots on Pakistani soil would have been an major embarssment for the mighty Pak fauj....and would have been a major PR disaster for pak fauj and that too in front of their major client i.e. pakistani awam...........
Pakistani fauj gave permission to American army to launch these attacks via drones as these drones do not attract same attention as american boots on pakistani soil would have....
Paksitan army leadership has never uttered against the drone attacks, coz their mouths are stuffed with american dollars
