This thread took new turn when the kaur mentioned 'Punch Kanyas' of Hindu religion including Mata Kunti (the MIL of Drupadi). Punch Kanyas reminded us 10 Bibiyon ki Kahani and Laddus distributed after reading this kahani. :D

my two cents

AFAIK indian tradition was not too harsh women,you can look at all the ajantha/ellora and other sculptures

full of saaxxx positions too advance for it's time when other civilizations were in cave-men era except may be chinese civilization...

it came with outside influence on indian women

yes the Kamasutra book is not as infamous as it is considered. It deals with human psychology and may be the inspiration for later books like ‘Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus’
