shikra..where were u visitin in pak? i ask, because when i went to pak last time, and we were in sindh - i saw some fat people. i was so disturbed. its the vadairay men and women who sit around and order people around and grow fat around the waist.

PCP I mainly visited Pakpattan Shareef, Sahiwal, Khan-e-waal, Lahore, and Karachi. Well these are the cities where I stayed and had time to go out in the market etc. And you are right, one of my aunt is overweight and that's because she just sits there and orders her nokrani to do everything. But I was just comparing the obesity between the Pakistani citizens and people living abroad.

yeah true. comparatively pakistan's obesity is nothing. i mean come on people. its more than 50% for kids under 11 in the usa. what is the world coming to?

I have visited Pakistan twice ever since I moved to the US. I was just thinking, I did not see many obese people in Pakistan. Is that because they walk a lot? i.e. go to the mall, groceries, shopping centers etc.

I may have seen 2-3 out of a 100 that were overweight, but other than that, all the guys and the girls were slim. And that’s a good thing that they walk a lot, unlike foreign countries where we have cars to even go down one block. The closest store to our house is Wal Mart and it’s even less than a mile but I never walk to there, I always drive to the store. I drive to work and every building has AC in it and since my work is done on a computer, all I do is just sit a temperature controlled environment all day and eat, and then sit again. That’s bad.

**The whole point is: **A majority of people in Pakistan don’t really have to exercise in order to stay fit and slim because they do so much walking and get enough exercise to burn those extra calories. We, foreigners, have to exercise, warna we get fat really fast. That sucks

We are supposed to get an exercise room in our building, then may be at lunch I can go there and do some exercise as I don’t feel like doing any workout after a long day when I get home.

I go to school on foot. In 10 minutes I cover 1 kilometer.

omg, thats cool you walk to school. i used to walk to my junior high too...it was more like running down hill cuz it was at the foot of the mountain. now i walk to the bus stop, cuz we live in the valley and the school is at the mountain cove. walkin is so much fun, especially when you can skip and kick stones. :D
