I have visited Pakistan twice ever since I moved to the US. I was just thinking, I did not see many obese people in Pakistan. Is that because they walk a lot? i.e. go to the mall, groceries, shopping centers etc.
I may have seen 2-3 out of a 100 that were overweight, but other than that, all the guys and the girls were slim. And that’s a good thing that they walk a lot, unlike foreign countries where we have cars to even go down one block. The closest store to our house is Wal Mart and it’s even less than a mile but I never walk to there, I always drive to the store. I drive to work and every building has AC in it and since my work is done on a computer, all I do is just sit a temperature controlled environment all day and eat, and then sit again. That’s bad.
**The whole point is: **A majority of people in Pakistan don’t really have to exercise in order to stay fit and slim because they do so much walking and get enough exercise to burn those extra calories. We, foreigners, have to exercise, warna we get fat really fast. That sucks
We are supposed to get an exercise room in our building, then may be at lunch I can go there and do some exercise as I don’t feel like doing any workout after a long day when I get home.
People order Double Cheeseburger with extra large fries…and get a diet coke with it
Noor Well it depends on the body shape and type also, I guess. If I eat and walk a little bit, I stay fine. When I stop walking, then I gain some pounds. So nowadays what I am doing is just walk a few blocks. Since I’ve transferred back to downtown, it’s fun to walk because you see different kind of people and so you don’t get bored by walking all alone.
Peshow I don’t go to McDonalds a lot, but even if they have diet menu, I am sure people eat twice of that diet food Coke itself is bad for your health, yet we all (including myself) drink it everyday.
Daniyal We are talking about adults here, who get up in the morning, go to work and mostly sit at their desks all day, come back home tired and go to sleep. In most cases, they don’t have time or energy to play basketball, ride their bikes, go to the gym, or jogging etc. It’s different for younger kids.
no no no, thats where i tie those little beed thingies, you know the ones when they touch make noise, :clown: i’ll be singing “i see ya baby, shakin that thang”
