Overprotectiveness

Is it normal to ask your 23-yr old-very mature daughter not to open the door for anyone if you are home alone? That too living in america in a nice suburban area? :-s

Re: Overprotectiveness

The other day my aunt told me, “don’t take a lift from a stranger” :rotfl: but then she added, “but you already know that”. I just looked at her. lol

Re: Overprotectiveness

lol my aunts tell me not to give anyone rides, especially not men :smack:

Re: Overprotectiveness

that is even if i know them :smack: like someones gonna kidnapp me while I am driving

Re: Overprotectiveness

my hubby makes sure that i take my cellphone every time i leave the house…even when getting the mail :smack:

Re: Overprotectiveness

well it depends, If your daughter is a higly skilled martial art kick-&ss kunfu girl power chick, then yes she s allowed to open. :D

If not, then I dont think she ll be to withstands two 300 pound blokes with a shotty and a danda.

Re: Overprotectiveness

I really dont think you will scare some one off with a celly :hehe:

Unless you have an old fashioned fridge style phone you can pound people in the head with

Re: Overprotectiveness

LOL! Same issue with me, but I dont care.. jus means I have azaadi, n i dont have to "wait" n entertain uannnounced guests :D

Re: Overprotectiveness

:Dlol

i’m 25 and still advised not to come home after midnight:halo:

Re: Overprotectiveness

barfee: lets just say, when stuff goes down, it doesnt matter how old u were or how SHORTER u were in harm’s way..

i’ve been nailed twice for carrying cellular phone in workplace or walking with phone on in parking lot ..

but on my routine checks once, 20 feet corporate electric sign, weighing about a ton, decided to let go of its clamps and fell 90+feet down on floor.. meanwhile i went out to grab a package

yeah sure in residential areas u wouldnt be seeing THAT scenario.. but whats the guarentee?

i live in an area which is still under contruction.. and during night times, when i come outta my room to go upstairs for food/water/bathroom, i still walk around with a cell..

if its not safety, then its reporting/quickly marking #s down whatever..

Re: Overprotectiveness

My dad always made us put a screen on our windows if we were drivin through my moms relatives neighborhood coz the ppl there “saaray ganday aur badmaash hain” :disgust:

Re: Overprotectiveness

I'm 26, married, working, living in a nice neighborhood, etc. And my mother would say the same thing.

Is it normal? Well, who knows. But I guess I understand.

Re: Overprotectiveness

o.. kaayy.. then i guess u dont know GUYS .. specially the ones who arent right in head sahar bibi .. they wouldnt care if u are 26, married, living near police station even .. if they would wanna rob waghaira u, they will jump u..

bottom line, be always prepared..
