Erm, it was speeches, and duas being done between ishaa and taraweeh; and an extremely long speech before the wrap up dua on eid. You can't just walk out, because they're slipping these things in between two mandatory parts of the services, so people have to remain sitting.
The solution to a disorganized mosque is not to "donate more".
