funny thing is that if this were a worldly matter where we have to wait in lines or what have you for hours and hours, we will do it. But since this was a religious matter, there is a hype and complaints all around. This shows a lack of discipline and patience in ourselves. The reason we get impatient quickly because we go to masjid to ‘get over’ the obligation instead of loving and caring about it. And no one is doing this for anyone else or giving any favour to anyone , for Allah’s Love, this is for our own selves.

Obviously, the Imam needs to pay some attention to other things and make sure that he does not prolong it or make it difficult for the people. However, at the same time, people also need to show some patience and discipline and it was Sunday for Allah’s Love.

I know your intentions are good but to play down our faults by guising it as a lack of passion for Allah SWT love is not something you or I could predict or judge, for only Allah SWT knows what is in the hearts. Additionally, when someone is complaining about something that is absolutely justified this is not the way to reconcile or win them over. We do not have to make a habit of always trying to find fault in the complainant.
