Sad thing is no one cares anymore. The women literally get up in the middle of his speech, and just act like its all over. And then you’ll hear him on the mic occasionally asking the women to please calm it down.

What frustrated me, is when this guy got on the ladies’ cases about the talking and children crying during namaaz.

If you’re going to ramble on for 1 hr in arabic so no one gets you, or in Urdu, and you have lots of people who don’t speak either language, then yeah, people are going to stop listening. And as for kids crying - that’s atrocious. They should still bring their babies to the masjid, so they can grow up in the environment - then we complain about how adolescents and young adults never go to the masjid. Well we never encouraged them to come when they were babies. So they never got into the spirit of it.

As a result, a lot of women stopped coming during taraweeh, and that certainly never hurt the Imam or the Board of Trustees Uncle and Co., so who loses from this really?

I think they have one lady who they communicate with as she is the wife of one of the Uncles, and so she gets to transmit information to us. Its such BS because all of these pakistanis have mixed gender gatherings at their home, so its not like they can’t approach us and speak to any of us in or around the masjid. They have us segmented off with a full curtain, so how are we to even raise our hand and voice a concern during their jummah town hall type meetings? I hear the guys raising their hands and telling the Imam this or that - the girls don’t have this opportunity.

Its such BS. All the mosques around here are like this.

We need to start a mosque that is run by younger more sane and Americanized people, and actually do things right.

Don’t stereotype though in hindsight most of it maybe correct. Our criteria is not being young and American.
