Really worrying development if its true. Contrary to what the human rights groups say, India needs to increase army presence on the western border and especially in Kashmir, given the turmoil across the border.
Has the worst nightmare for security forces come true? Is the Taliban now in Kashmir? There are reports that about 30 Taliban fighters have sneaked into Kashmir.
Intercepted conversations now available with NDTV between two Lashkar operatives says a large group of Taliban fighters may have sneaked into the Valley last fortnight.
Taliban in Kashmir?
30 Taliban fighters in Kashmir?
Radio talk between Lashkar operatives intercepted
Transcripts of the taped conversations available with NDTV show that the Lashkar is in fact worried about Taliban presence in Kashmir.
Transcript of the intercepted conversation: LeT man 1: What were you saying? LeT man 2: I was saying that new people who have come are all Taliban. They are only talking about killing and getting killed. We are very disturbed because of them. LeT man 1: Throw them out from there. LeT man 2: For that I will have to speak to ‘Big Brother’. LeT man 1: Ok
It’s worrying factor that Taliban is so close from India? Approximately 220 km is the distance between the Taliban dominated areas of NWFP in Pakistan and the Line of Control.
Home Minister P Chidambaram has commented on the infiltration threat and said that different terrorist organisations are working in tandem.
“There is a determined effort to infiltrate across the international border, the distinction between the different organisations has disappeared. But our security forces are alert and they’ve been able to neutralise these infiltrators in the last 3-4 weeks. And I am confident that with the heightened sense of vigilance and alertness they will be able to neutralise infiltrators across the border,” said P Chidambaram, Union Home Minister.
U have 700,000 troops on the most fortified place on earth with the latest technology to monitor the border given to you by Israel
and still people sneak in?
Are you aware of how large & porous the border is and how difficult it is to man every inch of the border ? Complicating this issue is the fact that a major part of the border is either desert or snow capped mountain ranges.
You are scared of these so called 30 Taliban? Are you sure there aren't already hundreds of them?
Its not about being scared. Its about dealing with them and not allowing them to infiltrate the country. I didnt quite follow your second comment. Are you implying that Indian Muslims are Taliban ??
Why did US not use that technology to stop crossborder "infiltration" on Pak-Afghan border?
1 - they dont have 700,000 troops there
2 - LOC is a lot smaller, and many routes are covered by snow which limits which routes are passable
3 - Pak-Afghan border is 2,000km long
4 - The Pak-Afghan border is not mined or militarized....due to people living on both sides who have common families on both sides of border....
30 cowards are enough to kill hundreds of civilians.
I dont think our army really cares whether there are 30 or 30,000. They will be killed anyways. Indian forces don’t believe in doing peace deals and surrendering to the terrorists or joining them and refusing to fight against them. Nor do terrorists walk away freely after carrying out their strikes in India

Deja vu my friend.
Isn't that the same for Pak-Afghan border, infact Pak-Afghan border is bigger, tougher to patrol.
so when India cannot monitor the border, it is understandable it's due to terrain, but when it comes to Pak-Afghan border, it's Pakistan's fault? I don't understand the logic. :)

You won't understand the logic becuase you dont wan't to ....... the fact of the matter is that people who are involved in most of terrorist acts ... be it in Pakistan , Afghanistan or India ... are originating from Pakistani territory. Hence the stress on Pakistan to do more :)
