I like streamlined menus from the same cuisine…usually if I am cooking desi…then the entire menu will be desi.
I did Italian recently and the menu was:
Assorted Italian breads with seasoned olive oils
Caprese salad
Spring mix salad
Italian chicken breast
Fettuccine pasta in roasted vegetables cream sauce
Tiramisu - this I bought 
OH and I also served mocktails.

I had a “christmas dinner” this year
for starters
chicken & cheese patties
Spicy tomatosoup
Main course:
roast turkey
beef roast with vegetables
creamed corn
sauteed mushrooms
tiny patatoes with herbs
Desert
Walnut ice crema with with chocolate and groud walnuts served together with homemade fresh brownies!
To satisfy our desi family i had made all these things with a few masaleh like dhania, zeera, red chillies. etc

We had my family over the xmas break. I asked everyone to come early and served snacks, then dinner much later as follows:

Thanks Reha, it was actually pretty easy to put together and not too time consuming. So once everything was in the oven I could put my feet up. I’d def. serve the menu again.
