Ok, I have found three other forums that are as decent as GupShup but somewhat of less quality.
One of the forums where I could sign-up, looks like a ripped off version of GupShup:)
Its not a good thing to see so few Pakistani forums of good quality. it's shameful to say the least!

Ok. So on one of the forums I have noticed a funny thing. Your email address is displayed publicly by default on your profile :). So anyone searching for your email address in Google will not only find your profile on that forum but also all the posts that you have made.

I don't know of any other forum. Chowk comes close in quality, and probably has way better writing, but the purpose of it is not a social site. It is a collection of essays and articles written by desis for desis. More of an art forum than anything else, although last time I checked, they now have their users listed with pictures and profiles. I don't think they have a chat function or any way to meet these people but I have to say, these people are people I'd actually like to get to know. A lot of them are pretty interesting people.
They used to have these chat rooms back when AOL first came out and it was all the rage. You could narrow them down by interest and location, so there was always a Pakistanis in X city chat room, and it was a way to meet people. A WAY. I think 90% of the people I talked to on there were raunchy idiots or hormoned teenagers, but I did meet like 2 or 3 people there who I befriended in real life and we still keep in touch. I went back there the other day to check if those chats even exist, and I think they do, except no one uses them. Not sure if Yahoo or some other company provides something similar.

The best part, and I hope I don't jinx it, is that this forum is free. Most other networking sites, you have to pay. And this place doesn't have the overtones of hormony people trying to meet other hormony people. You can come here regardless of what age, what purpose and just hang out and have some interesting conversation which you may not get at dawats with braindead bimbos sitting around you at a table conversing about the latest nailpolish color.

You can’t compare this forum to a networking site, the primary purpose of forums is discussion while networking sites are for connecting to people.
But old members know best what goes around after discussions 
Personally, I would call it perversion to come to a discussion forum to look for people.
My purpose of looking for more forums like GupShup is not to find an alternative to this, I just need to know how many of such forums are out there.

Very very very few people will actually come to GS with the intention of looking for a partner…but rather its a byproduct of most interactions.

In a way, the benefit of this vs networking sites is that u actually learn about a persons’ mentality and attitude through their posts (for the most part) which you wouldn’t necessarily see on facebook…
