Re: ...Ordering Food...
Shikra, some people ask the workers to wash their gloves and whatnot just to stay on the safe side. There's nothing wrong in it. =\

Re: ...Ordering Food...
pehlay mujhay yeh clear kerain kay wahan log gloves change kernay or knives wash kernay ka reason kia batatay hain ?
Re: ...Ordering Food...
K unhi gloves sey workers ney chicken ko touch kiya hota hai.......ussi knife sey woh chicken sandwich ko kaat-tey hain......Issliye hum nahi chahtey k wahi knife hamarey vegitable sandwich ko touch karey.

oyeeeeee shikki mawwssiiiiiiiiii yeh kiya drama khara kiya huwa hai ![]()
Re: ...Ordering Food...
Okay I'm strict in halaal food and everything, if its not available I will go for seafood or veggie but no, I don't ask people to change gloves, knifes before making my sandwich or change the oil in which they fry my onion rings etc. I know people who do, and its okay with me...its just that everyone draws a line at their comfort zone and theirs seems to be a bit further than mine..
My theory is, "Make Islam Simpler", no undue hardships..no complications..Again, if you believe that whatever effort you are making to fulfill your religious obligations is enough, then its okay...IMO it doesn't have to conform to other people's standards.
Re: ...Ordering Food...
i think both logics are correct
but one must try and avoid to intentionally eat haram
baqi Allah knows ur niyyats
and if alternatives are available than one must go for alternatives
Re: ...Ordering Food...
eh .. i think some people make a big deal out of it .. and i think ur doing the same. Alot of other people who arent muslims do it too because of one reason or the other....
Re: ...Ordering Food...
Safeena Thanks for your input.
BB once AGAIN, no one is talking about eating haraam. It's those little annoying things I am talking about. And as I said before, being so precautious on one hand and kissing boys on the other hands doesn't make sense to me. To others it may.
Iori I have not yet seen an american (or a non-muslim) request such thing. Everyone has their choice and I am fine with that. However, people should be considerate especially when there is only one restaurant is open in the area and there are 50 people in line. Asking workers to change their gloves etc. may not be a big deal during normal times and when there are only a few people behind you, but when there are 50 people in line, it does make a difference because it slows them down.

Some sahabi (RA) asked Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) that flaan butcher recently embraced Islam. He claims that he reads Kalma before slaughtering the animal but we are not sure if he does or if he forgets. Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said Read Bismillah and eat it. If he says it's halal, then it is. Even if it isn't, when you read Bismillah, it's halal for you. I don't have reference either as I heard it in Jumma's lecture
So can't you read Bismillah before eating your vegi sandwich? Workers gloves just touched the other meat, it's not like pieces of other meat are sticking to the gloves and are falling into your sandwich

Re: ...Ordering Food...
there is nothing wrong with asking them to change gloves at Subway. You are paying for the food and it's not like gloves are super expensive :)
I know ppl who don't want their pizzas to be cut when they are delivered. They have the pizza cutter at home and cut it themselves.
Re: ...Ordering Food...
Thats right - I have no shame in asking them to change their gloves..
I asked somebody to do this at my local SubW and the next time round I didnt have to cos they think I am a pure vegetarian - SIMPLE.
ther's nothing to be ashamed about plus that s wat our religion asks us to do so thats wat we should do.
Iam very cautious about what i eat...well I try as much as I can baaki Allah to dekh hi rahe hain...

Re: ...Ordering Food...
There's no shame involved and you are paying for the food, you have every right to ask them to do whatever pleases you, BUT, there's something called courtsey. If you see 50 people behind you, it slows the service down and delays everyone.
PG Urdu meri madri zubaan nahi hai. I can read/speak/understand urdu (the real urdu font) without any problem but it's a pain in the neck to read roman urdu. Anyway, that's not the point.
There's a difference between eating something haram.........and......eating something halal that has been touched by something that touched something haram. I go to the restaurant with the intention of eating a vegitable sandwich, not with the intention of tasting the little piece of vegitable that was touched by a knife that cut the chicken sandwich. This is where niyyat comes in.
And I know I am not using the appropriate term. When I say haram, I actually mean to say something makrooh because chicken is not haram. It's just not zabiha.
Aakhir mein baat bandey ki niyyat par aa jaati hai. Islam is not that difficult. Allah ko pata hai mein wahan vegitable sandwich khaaney jaata hoon, na k issliye k isi bahaney chicken ka zaaeqa bhi chakh loon (jo k vegi sandwich mein hota hi nahi hai).
Bibi what about the chance that the cheese of pepparoni can stick to the oven top and then melt on a vegi or cheeze pizza?

haram or halal ka faisla to Allah mian kertay hain na k insan
chiken ka meat halal ho ga jub woh Zibah ke jaye gee
or chiken ka meat haram ho ga jub woh zabihat nahi ke jaye gee
zabiha kay ahkam agar app nay perhay hoon to us main yeh bat zaroore hay kay 4 special vainz ka( ya in ka half say zyada ) katna or janwar ka khon bahana lazmee hay
agar kisi nay Zibah bhi kia or woh vainz nahi kateen to bhi zabiha halal nahi hota
u can ask it from any Alim its confirmed thing

haqq haaa i think u didnt read my post ..werna app yeh bat nahi kertay ..yahan Neayt ki koi bat he nahi hay yahan sirf ik ahtyat ka pehlo or bus
anyways ..maini apni post main yeh mention kia tha jo log yeh nahi kertay to its ok un per koi gunnah ka hukam nahi lag raha
lakin jo kertay hain un ka yeh ammal bohat acha hay ..
or rahe lambi line ki to yeh app ki sooch per hay ...app is fermaish ko sandwich prepartion main dal do to or is kam main zyada say zyada 5 min bhi nahi lagtay
Re: …Ordering Food…
Alim ney hi kaha hai:
Halal = Jo cheez Allah ney khaaney ki permission dee hai. Chicken, beef, goat etc.
Haram = Jo cheez khaaney sey mana kiya hai. Pork, Donkey, Dog etc.
Makrooh = Jo cheez halal ho lekin Islami tareeqey sey slaughter nahi kee gayi ho.
Obviously Allah knows it all and he’s the only one who will accept/reject our deeds.
Lets suppose it doesn’t take 5 minutes, it only takes 1 minute. 50 people in front of me in the line, everyone asks to change their gloves etc. How late am I running? 50 minutes. Unfortunately America mein lunch ka sirf 1 hour milta hai, that includes:
Leaving your office and take a 5 minutes walk to reach your car
10 minutes to drive to a restaurant
In this particular case, 50 minutes to get a sandwich
10 minutes to eat it
10 minutes to drive back to work
5 minutes to get back to your office
1:20:00 minute ka lunch? :halo:
Re: ...Ordering Food...
oh man .. app ko samjhana bohat mushkil hay
