Blasphemy law has become a Joke.
Blasphemy law is one thing. The concept of blasphemy is another. While I think both are problems, the latter is a bigger one. The concept that anyone (supposedly) saying/doing anything disrespectful to our religion should be killed, is the problem. The stage at which you actually take someone to the court over it, (where blasphemy law comes into action) is usually not even reached. The persecution starts much before that. We need to replace the concept of blasphemy with the concept of tolerance and freedom of speech.

Moral of the story, ye are free to spout misogyny, just don't bring women from the prophet's household into it. I think Mr Jamshed has taken the point now.

Siyasi bhai aap thore se thande lehje main baat kerain to aha, mazza hi aa jaye. Main aap ki baat se poori terah muttafiq hoon, aur main yeh bhi samajhta hoon ke JJ nain baat apni teref se nahin banayi…bas mujhe samajh nahin aa rehi ke doosre kahan se JJ ko tauheen-e-risalat ka murtakib keh rehe hain, beats me really.

295 is / was a British Law...which hey Implemented after Ilm deen's affair ... it was for all religions ...not just Islam...
later during Zia 's ERA...these two clauses B and C were introduced ...making it what it is today....... " NOT EVEN DEBATABLE " .... period...
this is a sign of messed up mentality ... I actually am against this law... Period.. But I think some of the Mulah need to be booked under this Law... starting with JJ , a high profile Mullah .... 10-20 more such High profile Mullah once they get the taste of their own medicine will make them come to senses... and i know 1000 % they will be scrambling to re visit this 295 ..thing.
now about JJ's oplogy .... think .. about the Christian couple for example ...who were burned in the Bhatti ... after allegation not proved ] of blasphemy ... though the actual issue I think I read somewhere was about money ..some 5 lacs were involved... not sure..any way... wouldn't they have cried, feared and opologized ..?? I am 100 % they would have ... but the Mob did not spared them .... or think about Asiya bibi ... she even signed an opology ..in front of media ... with Salman Taseer by his side...and what happens.... She is on death roll...and his supporter ... who was only supporting her on humanitarian grounds is killed... for they say even the supporter of Blasphemy is Wajub-ul-Qatal... though he did not commuted any blasphemy ... so I think to be fair.... this JJ .... should also taste the medicine....

Amir Liaqat is a reckless dangerous human being. What authority does he have to determine someone is wajub-ul-qatal, etc. Good grief? What Quran are these idiots reading? I don't get these kinds of messages when I read the Quran.

I am glad that he stood for the poor fellow. JJ definitely needed support of the sane ones out there. I was amazed and disappointed to see how violent/provocative some mullah came out on this issue specially Mr Shah Qadri - Chief of Faizaan-e-Alahazrat who called for JJ's killing and then another one who does programs on TV ( Aamir Liaqat ) said that JJ is wajib al qatal.
Pakistan has become a Mob and a very dangerous place to live. Blasphemy law has become a Joke.
Pakistani media is silent over the issue
They can only talk about politicians
Army , ISI , Mulla , Malik Riaz , Taji Khokhar are not in their list
Even MQM is only a holy name for them
"Moderates" should come out to support other poor people accused of blasphemy as well.
You know what this matter will only be resolved properly if the Barelvi ulema hold a joint discussion and withdraw Qadri's fatwa ... They can show they are a sensible group if they do this now ...

Well …no point in hiding it now. Yes I am bitter_reality. I was an active poster here but was barred from entry and banned back in 2004. I recall that I posted some anti Musharraf threads and our Patriotic Pakistani brother banned me. I was and still am very much against military solutions to all regional conflicts let it be in Balochistan, Kashmir or the tribal areas of Pakistan. Anyways…I have reopened a youtube/dailymotion channel and started posting in a number of forums… and you guys would appreciate that just in one day my video got 50,000 plus hits and thousands of facebook and twitter shares.

You were an active poster in 2009 and only reason you were banned was b/c you were supporting Taliban terrorism in Pakistan, and not following forum rules. In any case, welcome back & hope you’ll have productive time…
