Shanzai, depending on where you live in the US, each state has several bar associations. There is one for the state itself (e.g. the Pennsylvania Bar Association), and then a whole bunch of smaller groups for each county/township in the state. Have a look here:

Click on your state to find the names and contact information for your particular area and call them up. Briefly explain your situation and ask if you can get some names/numbers of attorneys or legal groups/organizations who provide legal aid to people with difficult financial situations. You could also try directly looking up the local legal aid chapter in your area (though I imagine the bar association will give you that information). Say you live in Cumberland County in Pennsylvania. So you would type into google “Cumberland County Legal Aid.” That should get you some results.

The next thing I would suggest…how old are your parents? If they qualify as senior citizens, they may be entitled to certain forms of federal and state aid…but without knowing the particulars of their situation, I couldn’t tell you for sure. Again, say you live in Pennsylvania. Type in something like “Pennsylvania social welfare” or “Pennsylvania social services, elderly.” Get the names and numbers and set up an appointment and talk to these people about getting help for your parents. They may not be able to direct you to a lawyer, but your parents may be entitled to aid (i.e. help in paying bills) that may ease their burden a bit. Plus, even though they may not be able to help legally, they will probably know of lawyers who help out people in circumstances such as yours.

You just need to do a bit of research. And make a lot of duas. Inshallah, this too shall pass.

There are LOTS of programs for people in need. All you need is to do the homework.
