Why does everyone take everyone so seriously on this board? I’m curious- do you guys actually seriously pay attention to the advice/ banter of the people here? Shouldn’t matters like divorce/ black magic/ inter-sibling marital relations be discused on a more serious platform? This isn’t meant to insult anyone, the type of topics in here really makes me concerned for some people’s naivity. My suggestion would be to take everything discussed here with a grain of salt and to really discuss these things with your loved ones/ people close to you!

Some people are not looking for answers from people they know. A poster might want an opinion from someone who is completely removed from the situation to get a non-biased answer. And why not help each other out?
I agree, some things should not be made public but we dont know what anyone else is going through, do we? Lets just live and let live...:)

Some poor soul is going to get screwed over royally. Especially if they take some morons seriously. Don't worry over it , unfortunately some people just don't know any better. Epecially when it comes to deciding when an opinion is worth considering and when it should be laughed at..

I think that this forum is one of the few desi forums I am aware of and people posting questions are looking for the desi perspective on things. Other than posting on a 'Dear Abby' style advice column where you get the opinion of only one person, there really arent more serious platforms for discussing topics that affect us as desis.
I have my own website forum and I am the only desi member. It is hard to discuss things or share my experiences/views with goray as they dont lead my type of life. Getting the desi angle is good.
And no, I doubt if people take everyones advice seriously but a few names definitely come to mind as great advisors. Red velvet, Mabrook and X2 do take things seriously and have great analysis and opinions. Even if the original poster doesnt take their advice seriously, I am sure that there are a lot of readers who can utilise good advice.

If a person is smart enough to open up a thread on a matter of their LIFE then they should (hopefully) be smart enough to know which advice to take and which not to.
SOmetimes its all about getting a perspective.

You know personal relationship communication is not in the DESI culture's strong suits. This is way to talk it out.

Yes they might take this board serious that is why when they don't have any clue about a situation that what to do or how to do they ask here. The take it serious that is why they share their genuine problems and also share their very personal things withou being worried about things which could be different in real life.
No matter they listen to advice or not but that can give them clue what to do and how to do. If not the thread opener then other lots of ppl who read these might use this or get idea what and how to deal in their situation.
So always give true and right mashwara if they ask.
If ppl ask we should help them. What they do take it serious or not it's their dicision.
PPl who join forum or boards are real ppl not robots and who share problems or ask questions are also real ppl not robots.
