One thing that you like about UAE

I love the balace.. u'd see a lady in a mini-skirt lined-up after a lady in an abaya and naqaab ;)

I also like the fact that complaints and suggestions are taken into consideration and worked upon rathar than being shrugged-off and ignored.

I love going out to eat without worrying about the food containing any traces or bacon, pork..lard etc.

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

I love the fact that Abu Dhabi is very secure. I dont feel ANY kind of fear even if i am out at the mid of nite.

The traffic n transportation system is really good. You can drive easily.

I like that you find very clean bathrooms every where.

I like the fact that there are laws and its made sure that they are implemented.

And the best thing about it: They might be best friends, but don't impose their dresscode on each other.

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

^ yeah i have seen that.

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

I love as many things as I hate about the UAE. Its a very confused country which makes it quite interesting to observe and live in. We've been there since the late 60's yet it doesn't fail to amaze me every time I look around.

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

^ so are you in Dubai now?

Your location say London and Dubai.

Hieeee Sanaaaaaaaa…i love all the different varieties available and best that its alllllll HALAL …

I love that you can order in or go out and get ur favourite food at all times

I miss Dubai :hinna:***

OMG AISHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaa…ur avatar :hayaa:

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

***What I really miss and loved about Dubai was the security and safety !

As a girl I could go out or come home at midnight or past and not worry or be scared......sometimes when I'd have night calls at the hospital and have to go in late , I'd not even think twice about going out alone !***

i love the sunshine, also the huge swing from east to west, go to Marina, Jumeria for a taste of the West, take a trip to Bur Dubai, Sharjah, Rolla and your in the East.

i love the little shops you can get tea from

i love how somone takes your ironing and brings it back.

i love how my car gets washed without me taking it to a car wash

i love how i can afford a cleaner in my home without having to sacrifice 3/4 of my salary.

i love watching Dubai develop.

i just love this place

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

Dubai a good place :),where religious bias is not there.

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

^ are you both coming to the iftar meet at Dubai????

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

The everything halal thing has to be amazing. No guilt associated with eating outside, or justifying it like a lot of Pakistanis do here as "Well the Arabs consider it alright so we will too". Most halal conscious people here are stuck eating at the really low quality desi and mid eastern restaurants, where yesterday's leftovers are served microwaved with a side of rudeness.

Dubai sounds like an awesome place for a professional.

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

would love to come, but have other commitments that day, maybe next time

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

^ okay inshAllah....

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

will go and see what it's like...

  • I had to edit out u're uncle's comment, not a very nice thing to say*

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

^ We are talking about UAE not Arabs :chai:

We can't hate the entire race based on a couple of experiences. There are good and bad people all over.. more kidnapping, killings, rape, injustice etc happens world over.. how did u're uncle miss all that?

Dubai does has it's set-backs NO doubt, but it is fair. The rules are uniform and the same for everyone, u won't be bailed-out within hours if u're chacha gives some 'waasta'.

Dubai is tolerant to all religions, castes and ethnic backrounds/groups. Every region gives prefernce to it's nationals and Dubai is no different, it has specific benefits for locals but expats aren't looked down upon either.

I found the Emirati's to be very hospitable people, often at times they went out of their way to help. I feel secure in Dubai and have NO fear walking home at 3 am. It doesn't make me feel like an expat, therefore a sense of belonging.

In no way am I saying Dubai is the place to be and practically perfect in every way*. *But, it definately grows on u.

Re: One thing that you like about UAE

^ Gina is absolutely right about Dubai.

Over all UAE is even much better :chai:

I have to add, that with all GCC countrys i have found the UAE nationals (and Omani) to be the most hospitable and genuine.

Saudi/Kuwait absolute nightmare

Thank God i live in Dubai!

I'm in London for a few months. I tend to travel back and forth for now. But this time is a 'long haul', definitely until after the new year methinks.
