One more pain added to my list of experiences...

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

Is Islam, everything is done for brownie points…Whether it’s sitting down to drink water, entering your homes and Masajid with your right foot or saying Salams first…Your purpose is to get close to Allah :swt: by doing what the Prophet :saw: did…Not what science tells you or what betterment you may derive from it…e.g. Hygiene…

In this day and age, when the best tooth care is available, who would do Miswak? Someone trying to earb brownie points obviously…

It’s all about brownie points…Otherwise why bother being good?

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

You are the epitome of stupidity around here. Try reading between the lines sometimes; in this case you dont even have to do that. But then it is entirely possible you would not get the meaning of what he is trying to say, even if you were to stare at it for 10 minutes.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

:bism:

33:21 Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

Um, you should be good because you love Allah and want to be a good person. Not so that you can get into heaven only.

Lets say God had never created a heaven, and there were no brownie points. You just had to do things because they were "right". Would you not do the right things then?

Really, this whole Sawaab system is interpreted wrong. You are not doing things for the purpose of getting sawab. Sawab is a fringe benefit, and a reward for your work and sufferings and struggle to be a good person. But the real reward is knowing you did the right thing and that Allah is probably pleased with you. At that point, "sawaab" doesn't even matter.

At least that's how I see it. So sorry, but I'm not running after a miswaak to please God. I'd rather please God thru charity, hard work, doing my job right, and being a good citizen.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

AQ:

For conduct!!!!!

Jeez, that should end the argument right there. Whether you use a miswaak or not doesn't put you in good or bad conduct. It is irrelevant. What does put you in good conduct is that you are practicing good hygeine. Like flush the toilet after you're done and put down the toilet seat. Something most men find mind boggling.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

Everything we do is for the sake of ALLAH to get his Raza and as a result to enter into the paradise. Everything is about Sawaab and getting into Jannah. Everythins is so that we can get into the heaven only for Allah:swt: tells us in surah Taghaabun that getting into Jannah is the only and true success.

Any good work done without sake of ALLAH bears NO fruit in hereafter.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

That’s what happened when we rely on translation.

Go read the grammar and meaning for Uswah-e-Hasana

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

like lajawab said, better hygiene can be achieved by using soaps during wuzu, why not use them pcg?

ok I just realized we are running in circles. Anyway, I am done with this. I am only happy that I am not your daddy pcg, tumhe kon sambhalta.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

AQ, you're the one proposing to be a know it all on religious matters, why don't you break it down for everyone?

I think that is the root issue here. You people are confusing the position of heaven in human matters. Doing something to get into heaven is very different from doing something for the sake of doing something right. Doing things to get into heaven shows that you are a selfish person. Like I said, if you take away heaven from the equation, then where does that leave you as a person? God isn't asking you to do good deeds to get into heaven. He is asking you to do good deeds to follow in his Way. Heaven is a byproduct. And I'm not on crack when I'm saying this. Plenty of scholars feel this way too, and I've been to countless lectures where I've heard it said again and again "Don't do deeds so that you can get into heaven, do them because they are right and good".

Ashtray, if you are that dirty when doing a wuzu that you would need soap, common sense tells you use soap along with water if its available. That doesn't require a phd in Islamic studies. And no, you're not my daddy. Neither would I want you to be.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

Sure. Uswaah means every minute and minor details of daily life from waking up to going to bad and in between daily chores, prayers, etc.

Why should we do something for the sake of just doing something right without sake of ALLAH? What if there is no reward or there is no RESULT (so to speak) in just doing things right; will you do it and why?

and how it makes a person selfish if one desires for paradise? kindly explain in details.

PS: Safaai kay 10 marks extra. Promise.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

Well that's what I'm asking you. If there was no reward, would you still do it?

Does doing things for a reward make you worthy of the reward? If you did it for the reward, what was your intention? Did you ever stop and thing you're doing something good, and mashallah, that in itself is a good thing, regardless of heaven and hell?

I think we muslims focus way too much on heaven and hell. Mullahs are an anal lot.
