One more pain added to my list of experiences...

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

^^

Going the easy way doesn’t mean you step out of line in Islam…There are many easy paths but they are not in par with Islamic teachings…Hence in that case, hardship is much more preferable…

However, Miswak is a Sunnah and a very preferable at that…It is with Miswak that the Holy Prophet :saw: brushed his teeth during fasting and everything else becomes doubtful…So why do something dubious?

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

:stupid:

Provide link that says you dont get closer to Allah (SWT) by following any of our Prophet’s (SAW) sunnahs.
You know the rules, link or STHU.

You are stupid because you just made a mockery of our Prophet’s sunnah. If you said that to my face, I would step up to you and deftly bitch-slap you.:bukbuk:

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

So why stop at miswak? Why not ride camel to work or use sand to wash your hands? Why not use henna for a headache instead of aspirin? Do you use matches to start a fire? Do you use a well to get your water or running water? What about plumbing for your toilet? What does using modern conveniences have to do with religion?

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

^^

The difference being, that the Holy Prophet :saw: mentioned specifically the benefits, uses and his preference for Miswak…

But he never mentioned camels, henna, matches or a well as a preferred method doing things…Miswak was mentioned specifically…Hence the difference…

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

Ok, but since there was no Clean Mint Crest Extra Whitening Toothpaste with Tartar Protection at the time, is it fair to say that if there was he may have specifically mentioned the benefits of using it?

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

he MAY have prohibited the use of automobiles to go to work since they cause pollution.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

Maybe…

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

what you guys really need to understand is that Rasool Allah SAW was not a pre-historic cave man but a modernised man, he was a visionary, a forward thinker, a human rights activist, a feminist, a peace activist, an animals rights activist and even an environmentalist. So how can we not be on the same page with him? why cant we use the miswaak?

Seminole, most of the things you mentions is ture - but it is also true that life in most parts of this world is still very primitive. Everyone doesnt live in a developed countrywith electicity and water flowing 24/7.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

^ by that same logic, why don't we all keep doing things the way they were done in his age i.e 500-600 a.d. time period?

Like, you shouldn't go to college, because education up until like the age of 10 is just fine. And then you should help your dad on the farm and marry an 8 year old girl. I mean, who needs college and even perhaps a professional education? Pshaw.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

Its not following the West. It's following science and technology advances. Now is it the West's fault that you in the East were not so visionary as to promote your people in these areas, and that as a result now, science and technology is dominated by the West?

By the way, you keep talking as if all these modern technologies come out of only the West.

Funny thing is that Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, etc etc are all in the East. These areas are responsible for a bulk of science, technology, engineering, manufacturing advances.

So...it looks like pretty much the muslim countries are all in the dark ages...

Therefore, I wouldn't go so far as to identify the muslim world with the "East"...because even many countries in the "East" are much more advanced than our muslim civilizations.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

modern sciences still has its basis on early discoveries and research of muslim scholars who were the fathers of algebra and chemistry all this and plus the idea of education - but sadly today our muslim countries lack the resources. Why? lets just leave that for another thread.
and lets ask this instead - why cant i use a miswaak?

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

Wait, so its cool when the scientific advances come from muslim scholars, but since the toothbrush didn't come from a muslim scholar, its not something we should follow?

I wonder. If a muslim "scholar" invented the toothbrush, would muslims take pride in using it?

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

who told you that a toothbrush didnt come from a muslim

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

You think it comes from a muslim? :rotfl:

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

i do think that it branched out from islamic sciences

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

You mean the miswak. So, instead of following the branch that came out of Islamic sciences, you choose to stick to the origin, the miswak?

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...

actually i would choose to use both

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

Using miswak is a sunnah of prophet :saw: so please stop making fun of it. This is a very serious matter so don’t take making mockery of Sunnah as lightly. Why it is bothering you if someone is using it? You should be bothered by a Muslims who is drinks alcohol and eats haram. NOT someone who is following a sunnah. It is real sad that some muslims have joined the bandwagon of insulting sunnah with non-Muslims like Stu who’s sole purpose to come here is to insult Islam and corrupt the minds of Muslims with weak faith.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

I think those people who are arguing about why use miswak, should read the link, and stop thinking against it.

Generaly don’t you like doing things similar to the one your loved one’s? I think if you ever loved someone, you know what I am talking about, so doing things accordingly as Prophet (pbuh) did is one way of showing love for Prophet. Also I have nothing to worry what side effects I am going to get with MISWAK, compare to using toothpaste, which is good , which is bad, which to use, which not to use. All those questions.

Whoever has used Miswak, knows how different it is and benifit of using it is far reaching then toothpaste.
I think guys you need to understand the difference between Sunnah of Prophet and what Prophet (pbuh) asked us to do, and the things he normally used, for example camel for travelling. And who are we to make any fun of things which prophet (pbuh) used in his life.

The way petrol prices are going, you may have to use camels anywayssss.

Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences…

You get blessings of ALLAH:swt: if u use miswaak because it is sunnah of Rasoolulah:saw:

Tooth brush doed not give you any blessings or sawaab.

It’s sad to see people ridiculing none other than Prophet:saw:

May Allah:swt: have mercy on us.
