Re: One more pain added to my list of experiences...
AQ, you're the one proposing to be a know it all on religious matters, why don't you break it down for everyone?
I think that is the root issue here. You people are confusing the position of heaven in human matters. Doing something to get into heaven is very different from doing something for the sake of doing something right. Doing things to get into heaven shows that you are a selfish person. Like I said, if you take away heaven from the equation, then where does that leave you as a person? God isn't asking you to do good deeds to get into heaven. He is asking you to do good deeds to follow in his Way. Heaven is a byproduct. And I'm not on crack when I'm saying this. Plenty of scholars feel this way too, and I've been to countless lectures where I've heard it said again and again "Don't do deeds so that you can get into heaven, do them because they are right and good".
Ashtray, if you are that dirty when doing a wuzu that you would need soap, common sense tells you use soap along with water if its available. That doesn't require a phd in Islamic studies. And no, you're not my daddy. Neither would I want you to be.
