Jeez, that should end the argument right there. Whether you use a miswaak or not doesn't put you in good or bad conduct. It is irrelevant. What does put you in good conduct is that you are practicing good hygeine. Like flush the toilet after you're done and put down the toilet seat. Something most men find mind boggling.
