I had that situation on our way back from Pakistan a couple of weeks ago. Airline upgraded me to Business Class (because I’m a frequent traveler). I asked her to take the BC seat but she didn’t want to. So during most of the flight I was standing in the Economy area where wife and kids were sitting.
