I think bowlers did a v good job restricting SA to an achievable score despite only 3 down.
And then real credit goes to top batting order who played exactly per plan keeping their nerves intact.
Imam’s 86 was phenomenal and Hafeez played a v responsible inning which should be the way.
Now for next match, I’m SA will go blitz to score more than this. Not sure if Amir is in ODI squad but looks like Pak does need him as a front bowler.
The quick short rising ball that made l8fe of batters difficult was not there. Oliver looked so ordinary … beautiful pulls. I believe wicket was much slower so SA bowlers speed became ideal for stroke play while our bowlers became more slow for stroke play.
honestly speaking SA didn’t tried hard to reach 300. They looked content …
hafeez n imad didn’t bowled well. This is area of concern for us as these two stop runs while others take wickets
Pakistan batsmen decided to not play again, playing idiotic shots, falling for short balls over and over again. Brillian hitting by tail-ender Hasan Ali brought score to some sensible level of 203, struggling 41 by Sarfaraz accompanied Hasan. I think it will be walk in the park for SA batsmen as our batsmen were overly defensive and not able to handle short balls.
Same ol’ Same ol’ Pakistani batsmen. No consistency, throwing wickets all over.
Just one 9th wicket partnership saved some respect.

I think Sarfraz is done after recent comments.
His comments showed he is just a ignorant stupid not to realize its not a gali mohalla cricket but a international venue in spotlight. Also it happens when you have no education or training or awareness for the context. Its a legit example of talking too much cause you trouble

regarding that comment by ahmaq sarfaraz, national team ka captain bun gya lekin zehniat wohee gully muhallay walay team ki rahee. Does he not know about wicket mics, does he not realize where is he standing and as his status as team captain? I seriously hope ICC picks up on this and hands him the most severest punishment possible. The moron has zero strategic capabilities as captain and thinks just flapping his mouth out loud aimlessly at every delivery is all that’s needed to show as leadership skills.

clean hitting by hassan. As i wrote earlier , short ball when comes with medium pace is dolly for our batters but with a bit extra pace , they cannot adjsut.
Sarfraz’s comment shows his helplessness. That phulkara guy was a walking wicket in the beginning of his innings.
But he as captain must know that racism is something of very serious consequence in ICC guide. As good human being also should refrain from such comments

Shoaib Mailk given captaincy in absence of Sarfaraz and Rizwan kept the wickets, team did really well. Bundled out pink SAffies for 164 and reached the target with 6 wickets to spare. Usman Shinwari replaced Hasan Ali and took 4 wickets.
Series leveled, last game will be series winner.
with everything available online easily these days, I do spend sometime watching quick highlights of Pakistani first class matches. there is not much out there. it is not like we have kohlis or akrams sitting on bench. why is that? a long debate and lets do it some other day
that being said, I have also watched this current squad very closely for good 2 years and this is pretty much the best lot you have. i like these boys. what makes them a good team, as i see it, is the fact that they “wine and dine” together, they “mingle and melt” together. imad, shadab, hassan ali, babar, faheem, imam, they are all buddies and they support each other. this is really reallly important. in past we had great players but they were jealous of each other and we were a mess in the dressing room. I hope this lot keeps this freshness and i dont jinx them!
talent wise, a pretty good team for ODI and T20s. pretty much all of them can bat till no 10 which is required these days. bowling skills good enough to sustain the intensity for 50 overs. skipper is a weak link but no one wants to change him. So keep the unit for WC with minor fine tuning
test cricket: its over for Pakistan. You may not like me to say this but Pakistan most likely will never emerge into top 3 test teams. there is not much on the bench either. you need players who average above 50 in first class and india/aus/SA will have so many of them. we have hardly anyone. i think only 2 Pakistani players average above 50 in first class. most of our player average 30s. so how can they bat internationally?
and we shd bring fawad alam back . he deserves it…idiot inzi is not letting him in because of some personal ego or racial bias, i dont know but he is destroying fawad career mercilessly. what a chawall inzi is. he destroyed misbah’s best years too just because he was always afraid of misbah as misbah was a captain material and a fine player).
Imam by the way is a fantastic player and if he can resolve his problem on out swinger, this boy will lead pakistan in future for a very long time. i can see a leader in him. mark my words, if he scores reasonably well, he will be next skipper of Pakistan.
shaheen afridi has impressed me. aamir was my biggest hope and now he is my biggest disappointment. shinwarie, something is convincing me he is not going to make it. his action is probably not very smooth and he will never go above 140 speed. yasir, totally uselss outside UAE. big disappointment, he didnt do anything in aus and now zero in SA. champion bowlers find a way to adjust their bowling to the situation.
