Our “think tank” i.e. selectors are idiot, not doubt. They ruined Fawad Alam’s career, now Inzi thinks his ‘technique’ is not right then how does a player maintain average of 50 for that many years and continues to perform in every single domestic tournament? He was quick to chose Imamul Haq over many other domestic players who had far better average than him but family member is more important then national interest.
I am disappointed in Amir as well, I had high hopes, but even on SA he was bowling more in 135 km/h area and sometimes hitting 142-145 while SAffies were bowling more in 140s (Stey and Olivier).
Honestly speaking Amir was not bending his back much.... Only wen sarfraz gave comments than he started to try hard.
imam is doing good but he is like many other players difference is he is having full confidence of uncle. I don't see any difference in him n imran farhat
Pakistan suck so bad in tests and their standard has just gone down to the bottom level. If we take the best test batsmen which are Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq, hypothetically speaking i’m sure they wouldnt be able to get a place in Indian, English or even Australian team at this moment. Babar Azam is somewhat a better batsman but as usual, no consistency. And either way you cant depend on single batsman.
Imam has proven his worth but also that he is a limited overs opener, just like Fakhar Zaman. Both arent test openers. So they need to find a solid pair for opening.
Shan Masood proved he is good, but as a middle-order batsman, not a opener.
In short Pakistan needs a completely different and strong test batting lineup. If they dont bring it,they’ll continue to lose no matter who is the coach or captain.
Pakistani board/selectors are terrible and they are the responsible for this havoc. They actually got exposed when they selected almost same lineup for South Africa which lost badly on home against NZ.
There is absolutely no excuse for not bringing Fawad Alam after the embarrassing losses. The team was getting 3-4 ducks in each inning. How worse it could get?
And yes bowling has become substandard as well. With today’s technology, a new bowler gets wickets but as soon as other teams read them well in camera, thats it. They find the ways to deal.
In the end, Pakistani team has lost the standard as well as temperament to play 5 days match. They are getting confined to T20s or ODIs where they also struggle to finish 50 overs very often. Worldcup is over head and we can see how India has thrashed Aus/NZ in their own countries so clearly they’ll be the favorites, duly so.
Absolutely. The selection has been sub-standard, there are other players on domestic scene who have far better average than the many batsmen in current squad but they weren’t selected because they see “talent” (hint like Umar Akmal) or have relatives (like susar or chachu Inzamam) who select their aankh-ka-taara.
I think the Pakistani cricket team played very good in the One days series Tomorrow is the final in 5 matches series it would be like a final .... best of Pakistan
Sarfaraz has disappointed. He takes too much stress on, and that has affect on his own performances as captain. For Pakistan, wicketkeeper should never be captain.
Does PCB not teach these boys anything these days about behaviour in the modern cricket and with technology monitoring everything how are they allowed to just blabber anything?
These stupid boys need to stop making gestures and/or giving statements after every game. Only their performance should be the show. No need of talk bcaz tht gets their attitude up and then next match they fall hard to ground for zero performance. (Gharoor ka sar neecha.). Why can't they shut their attitudes or mouths ?
As for our bowling,
Really disappoiinting that we have no real FAST bowler, we're stuck with medium pacers. Even Dale Steyn @35 has more pace than these young guys.
Shinwari appears useless unless he gets lucky, Shaheen bowls much bettter than him. Shinwari oversteps a lot and alot of times clueless bowler.
Throw Amir out and give chance to someone else, even Junaid Khan is better as he puts in a major effort each time he plays and has more heart. Amir just relying on small past glory.
I guess we gotta rid of Micky Arthur so we can get rid of Amir. That guy is now full of attitude on 1 wicket he manages to get and he bowls slow pace. Anyone can hit that out of the park.
With the current lot its not possible to defend low totals against quality sides, even against likes of Bangladesh, etc.
We're going to lose some players after the WC anyway like Hafeez, Malik, etc
I'm not so sure why Pakistani batsmen took it easy to barely reach 240. They are minimum 40 runs short.
I dont see any problem for SA batsmen chasing an easy target. It would be a miracle of Pakistani bowlers can pull a win off. But if not, its not their fault.
judging by this, don't expect much during WC. I predict an early exit in group stages in England.
Pathetic batting and bowling.
Lack of penetration, lack of speed, lack of creativity/thought of bowlers. Easily hit all over the park
