I think he is saying what I have been saying all along. Pakistan has no dearth of talent in batting. What is needed is an unbiased selection process.
KARACHI: Pakistan have suffered their second successive defeat in the four-Test series against England because the cricket board has ignored deserving players from Karachi and other places, Secretary Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) Prof Ejaz Faruqi said here on Monday.
He expressed his dismay over the role of the selection committee and the PCB who he said continued to neglect talented and deserving players which had caused the national team to flop badly against England.
“Selectors denied opportunities to talented batsmen like Khurram Manzoor, Khalid Latif, Faisal Iqbal, Sarfraz Ahmed, Asad Shafiq and a few others which was reflected in Pakistan’s dismal show in Tests.”
Ejaz insisted that Pakistan was not short of talented players but poor selection policies and injustice with the players was the cause of team’s abjectly poor performance.
“I** am surprised that a completely out of touch Mohammad Yousuf was picked** for the Tests while many deserving players were left out,” he said.

In an unusual move on Tuesday, the Karachi City Cricket Association, the country’s biggest and most influential cricket association, passed a resolution at its executive council meeting deploring the team’s performances.
“The association is concerned at the pathetic performances of the team in England only because the Pakistan board and national selection committee has failed to pick a representative team capable of defending Pakistan’s prestige and image,” it said in a statement.
