The GS Administration has finally taken the well-needed steps towards filtering out the idiots and making the setup so simple that only the smartest people will be able to survive. 
I happen to love the new layout btw.

Click on the group and then on the top left somewhere you have the option to decline the group invite.

When you hover over the forum name, you should be able to see the description pop up in a box.

I forgot to mention, it only works with IE 
I am using firefox but it only shows me just the first line. If I view it in IE, it works fine. Also notice that descriptions have been shortened.
