no man..i dont think its on tv..just following commentry online

Match over...Pakistan lost 2:1

Final score : Pakistan 1 - 2 Germany

Disappointing result. Sohail missed two penalty corners which he normally doesnt. Pakistan dominated the game mostly but didnt create enough chances in the circle. Good thing is that other contenders Korea and Spain couldnt snatch a win in their match. Hope Germany slip up in remaining matches to make things easier for Pakistan. It is too early to say about permutations and combinations pakistan need to qualify for semi berth but an all-win record from here should do.

Pakistans next match:

Aug 17th, 2004 ~ 6:30 pm(Athens time)-(11:30 am EST)

*Pakistan Vs Egypt *

^ Half a dozen goals agaisnt Egypt would be great :D

Only positive (if one must find one) is that we didnt concede more goals. Goal difference could be the key at the end but its too early to say.

^ Yeah...that would be great:)

Let's see how Egypt performs against Great Britain....Egypt came to the Olympics after winning the Africa Cup by beating South Africa....& South Africa today defeated Argentina...so there is not much difference between these teams....

Waisay don't you think Pakistans pool is a bit difficult one...They have to beat Korea,Spain & Great Britain to go all the way to semis..& they can't flunder in any one of these matches...

That has been emphasized before. Pakistan really have tough task on thier hands. Aik point mil jaata aaj tu bari asaani ho jaati. Sohail Abbas rarely disappoints and he did so today but never mind.

Yeah ...the only other team who looks a bit threatening to Germans are the Spaniards....
But i guess after losing this match...it is better for Pakistan that Germany wins all of its matches.... with other teams loosing 3 of their points against germans like pakistan did....
That way the second position competition would remain between Pakistan,Korea,Spain & G.Britain...
Let's see...how it goes..

I would like to see Germans slipping up in one or two games, yes it will bring more teams into contention but it might give Pakistan some cusion. Lets see though!

Great Britain 1 Egypt 0 (1st Half)... So nothing un-expected till yet ...A tie however would be good for Pakistan:)

Netherlands 1 India 0 ,after 2 mins into play....India ki shaamat shuru:p

Great Britain 1 Egypt 1 (2nd Half)....

Final Score: Netherlands 3 - India 1.

Group A matches final scores

Korea 1 - 1 Spain
Great Britain 3 - 1 Egypt
Germany 2 - 1 Pakistan

Group B matches final scores

Netherlands 3 - 1 India
South Africa 2 - 1 Argentina
Australia 4 - 1 Newzealand

it's quite clear: Holland is gonna win this championship once again

Tickets Of Pakistan-England Hockey Match Sold Out 10 Days before Olympics](http://www.planetfieldhockey.com/PFH/Item-View-13821)

Tickets of Pakistan and England hockey match were sold out ten days ahead of the opening ceremony of the Athens Olympics and it is still a mystery unsolved that how the tickets of that last league match of the Pakistan pool vanished much earlier before the start of the event.

Pakistan is scheduled to take on England on August 23 in its Pool A match. The tickets of that match were not available on the booths or banks nor on the internet much before the opening of the summer Olympics Games. The sell out of a full 7000 house is also a total surprise for the organising committee of the Athens Olympics. The match even does not seem much important as before it the qualification of the teams for the semifinal stage will already be decided.

Pakistani expatriates living in capital Athens have a special passion for hockey. Their main interest in Olympics is hockey. They want to watch all the matches of the Pakistan but since the tickets of Pak-England match already sold out they feel frustrated. Majority of them bought the tickets of most of the matches which Pakistan team will play in its pool against Germany, Egypt, South Korea and Spain well in advance.

When contacted by APP’s corespondent, a spokesman of the organizing committee here Friday confirmed that no ticket was available for that particular match. " The tickets for Pakistan’s other pool matches are still available, barring their the match against England “, he said.

"It is a mystery unsolved for us and we donot know the reason of selling out of all the tickets much before the start of the event (Olympics) " he said. A noted Pakistani cardiologist based in Athens, Dr Tahir Kazmi who is a keen follower of hockey also expressed his surprise over the non-availability of the tickets and said he fails to understand why the tickets were not available.

" I have been struggling for the past 15 days to get the tickets of that match but I have been informed that all of them were already sold out ", said Kazmi, a high profile doctor of the Pakistani community. Dr Hamid Shah, another Pakistani doctor working in Athens for the past 20 years, said he also failed to buy the ticket of Pak Vs England match and expressed his disappointment for being deprived of the opportunity not to see that match in the ground. Similar sentiments were also expressed by a number of members of Pakistani community who believes that their team is fully capable of bringing glory to the country

Not really. Germany have beaten every team they played in warm up tournaments and they are most favorites to do that. Right now, they have this slight aura of invincibility around them but still a long way to go.
