Now this is truly amazing. I joined this forum when it used to call “pak.org” back in 1998. Then it lost its luster and I didn’t post for now 10 years. What find it truly amazing is my user name is still in the record.
There has been a big change (mostly in interface and new moderators). A gal named Muzna used to be the moderator of Gupshup. Whew, the time flied and now that I’m 42 years old, this forum still feels like yesterday. Most of you mostly must be younger and have newer ideas to discuss.
In any case, it is still good to see the site is still in operation and kickin.
Lafanter: The website today is not what it used to be 10 years ago. It used to call pak.org and had a completely different interface. Along with Muzna, a guy named Azkar Choudhary were instrumental in launching the site and was is in direct competition with chowk.com.
Although my join year says 2002, I assume that's when they upgraded the site and transferred the users.
The management team has 2 groups: Moderators and Administrators.
Moderators carry out the day-to-day duties (taking actions on thread, promoting growth within their forum, helping members etc.) while the administrators sometimes also help moderators with these daily duties but their main job is to manage the moderators, to make sure that no moderator is abusing their powers and that the forums are running smoothly etc. Then there are other projects that we work on, with the help of members of course, such as the banners that you see on top of this page, audio/video presentation for special days (i.e. 14th August), and competitions to keep things lively.
So I reckon almost all the old members (just like me) moved on and now this site is now mostly popluated my younger generation.
Now at 42, I believe I'm the oldest soul on this site. Glad that new faces are here and gupshup is providing platform to young people to share and discuss young ideas. I guess the average age of particpant now is 20-24....enjoy!
