This is the only picture that was ever taken of my nana abbu. He died well before I was born, so all I know of him is from this picture. The original photograph is very small, about 2 x 2 inches. I took a picture of the photo with my digital camera, zoomed in, did some detailed editing, and fixed it up as best as I could without distorting the photograph.
I really like this picture..just the expression on nana abbu’s face and the way he’s holding the hookah pipe just infront of his mouth, about to take a puff.
My mom is the one in the back holding the fat baby. The rest of the people are my khalas/mamoes. My nani amma isn’t in the picture, and her and nana abbu had 10 kids (not all are in the picture).
I wish he was still alive. He seems like he’d be a cool guy. =]
awexome pic phati. I have the same thing with my Dadda abbu. I never saw him so I lack the love from that side. On the other hand, my nana jaan was the best person I came across with beautiful lively personality, he passed away 5 yrs ago.
Grandparents are always cool n cooler to try huqaas with them :D
awww awesome pic! my nana was a great fan of taking pics (from what i hear, since he died long before i was born too) and he's got all these pics of the family growing up. there is this AWESOME shot of my nani in her jawani days, and it's hard to believe it's her...since all i can remember of her was her old days.
there is this shot of my nana and nani, sitting at someone's house, and khala got it digitally colored and has it at her house. it's such a cute picture :D
:D how cool is that photo when i went back to pak we had really old photo's of some of the oldies in out family i so wanted to bring em back but my mum said no :( but there was this one were there were my three baba's and they all sat on a manji with hookas:D
The only person I didn’t see was my Grandfather (from my dad’d side). He passed away when my dad was young. His wife (my dadi) MashaAllah lived to be 100+ yrs old
Though never saw my dada/dadi but from mom's side - damn we used to get loads of goodies everytime we went to pak. My mom's parents n her chachoo n phophos lived across the street so it was kinda like joint family. My mom was the first one to get married in her family n ofcourse we being the first kids in the house were laadlays among all :D
Would steal all the shows - even my mom's phophos n chachoos would take us out to buy us some goodies n toys n what not. Now, not many of em are alive, may Allah grant them Jannat peacefully, AmeeN.
HHL: thats amazing, mA
Khumi: yeah, wonder if all nanas like to take pics b/c mine did as well :D he was indeed a handsome man!
haha i wonder eh! apparently my nani would get so exasperated because he would take forever to take a pic (i mean well understandable…cameras were slow back then). but it was worth it eh seeing them after allllllll this time!
and pics can be fun! the other day i was looking at pics of my khala from when she got married way back in the 60’s. and she was carrying this purse with those round circle handles. i was like omg!! that’s what’s in right now! and my khala goes so nonchalantly oh i threw it away.
