I eat quite well but every so often I’ll have a crazy mood swing and eat the WRONG THINGS!
Ordinarily, who cares? All I do is make up for it by eating well the next few days. But Ive got an event coming up in which I have to rock the house. Nothing can be out of place, including any love handles. Ladies, you know what I mean!
In the past, Ive heard that recording what you eat is quite effective in terms of maintaining a healthy diet. Im going to see if that works. I will log my entire day’s intake in this thread every night and try to be as honest as possible.
Along with this, Im also exercising everyday. Im doing about 30 - 45 minutes of cardio along with a strength or weight training class. I exercise anytime between the hours of 8am - 12pm and rarely between 7pm - 9pm. Im not taking any supplements but if you know of any that are safe, please suggest them. I was thinking of trying out Hydroxycut but is that a good idea? There isnt any ephedrine in it anymore so it should be alright, no?
My goal is to tighten, tone and firm up! I want to shed about 7lbs and just have some more definition. I dont want to necessarily be skinnier, just a very healthy version of me. I will be recording progress as I see the changes.
Anyone and everyone is more then welcome to join me in this by the way! We can support each other and do it together. :AID:
You all can help by offering critiques, suggestions, ideas even encouragement!
I'll join you! I've got my 10lbs post-marriage. I don't even care about reducing weight, just fat (collects on my face and tummy).
I did 30 minutes on my elliptical this morning! Going to try to keep that up, in addition to walking home a couple times a week (2.5 miles) once the snow clears!
When you get back into the routine after a long time, you're going to have some slip ups in beginning, it's only natural. That's what I've experienced. It takes time in turning working out and eating healthy from a temporary phase to a lifestyle. To maintain your ideal weight, you have to maintain healthy habits, otherwise you'll gain those pounds that you lost. You'll have days when you'll pig out. But as long as you lead an active life, you'll burn it off.
A few years ago, I got into this exercise routine where I would go jogging 4 times a week. And on the days I wasn't jogging, I did oblique crunches, step-ups, and arm weights. And within 2 months, I toned myself up really nicely. My tummy was nice and toned. And there were days that I slipped up, but I kept myself active. If I felt too tired to go jogging, I turned on the tv and lifted arm weights or did crunches while watching commercials or whenever I had some free time. And I ate apples every day because they are known to help with weight loss. They keep you full for about 4 hours, I think. And they provide you the energy to exercise as well as vitamins and antioxidants.
And for snacks, I had pretzels or nuts or fruits. I loaded up on water. And instead of having roti for lunch and dinner, I limited it to only once a day. And I had salad for lunch. You slip up some days, but you just keep going. I had read that people who exercise more eventually start feeling less hungry. And I noticed that as I became more regular with exercise, I felt less hungry. And when you exercise, you sleep better at night. The reason why I've gained weight is because I'm sleeping late and getting up late and that is known to trigger weight gain. So, I'm working on sleeping early and exercising regularly. I didn't go jogging today cuz it's freezing outside, but tomorrow I'll get started with arm weights and crunches.
It takes time. But we'll get there. At least you're getting a real intense work out compared to me. So, you're on the right track, girl!
Bonbon: I'll attest to keeping a food diary. It's a great idea and really keeps you in check about your intake and where you would need to make changes. I had really bad eating habits and upon the recommendation of my Dr., I started logging every single thing I ate and drank for a certain period of time. I really made the effort to eat better and I noticed that I would look at what I had logged from days before and it helped in motivating me to eat better.

So try it out and good luck!
Chamak, thank you!
Its not all about dieting...I want to find something that works well for me.
Bonbon, it doesn't seem like your eating enough, and in order for you to lose weigh effectively and ge the most from your workout you need to be eating properly and have 3 meals a day.
Bonnie! stay off the peanut butter. Instead include chicken and fish in your diet.. and add some steamed veggies to that as well.. also im not too sure about how much yoghrurt you should be having in a day either..
im no dietician or anything, but if ur trying to tone up and lose about 7lb, i think u might need to cut down on the peanut butter or just limit it breakfast..
but id heavily advise having chicken and fish with veggies for dinner.. :k:
