Official thread for chicas

Re: Official thread for chicas

music maniac as far as i remember there was some discussion on this topic before as well in this forum. can't remeber when?

about pains ... it depends on many things . like ure body structure and resistance etc.
yes caffeine enhances it ... more over if u do not stop taking it right now u may end having periods twice a month ... i.e. ure cycle will speed up automatically.
u should have rest for the 1st three days i guess ( as in ure case)
.. and u should have proteins .. like meat etc. a regular constituent in ure diet. :)

Re: Official thread for chicas

Niyal: My cycle is mashallah pretty regular. I cant give up my caffeine, Y ALlah me :( I have to rest for the first two days, this is the reason i have been here all day. It was such a wonderful day out there and couldnt even go.

Well i never saw any threads on this, but i can always look back for um

Anil: When i was a kid, i couldnt imagine it either, i was grossed out by the idea and i used to give ma sis weird looks and all at my age. But when a gal gets um, i guess they some how adjust themselves. Anyway there are so many advantages of having pms and it also helps us have not lots of diseases.

Re: Official thread for chicas

You know as they say, don't trust something that bleeds for 5 days but doesn't die.

Re: Official thread for chicas

I'm not married and am 24.

All through teenage years, my periods were irregular, had terrible cramps, and usually lasted 5-6 days.

When I was about 21, I started taking Ortho Tri Cyclen(birth control pills in case anyone isn't familiar with that brand) to deal with my acne. I've been taking it for almost 3 years, and it helped with my acne a lot. Personally, I haven't had any problems with it.

A few months after I started taking the pill, once my body got used to the chemicals, I also noticed that my periods became MUCH LESS painful, became regular like clockwork, and also lasted only about 3 days. Heck these days, I know the exact day it will start, and the exact day it will end.

As far as periods getting "better" after marriage, it has nothing to do with sex. It has to do with birth control pills and majority of the desi women wait until marriage until they start taking it.

As far as tampons go, I've been using them since I was 19(almost 4 years) and that's the only thing I use. Heck after I started using tampons, these days, I don't understand how I ever used anything else. It's literally just like the commercials say....once put in properly, you don't even realize you're wearing it b/c you can't "feel" it. And yes, they work perfectly as long as you change them regularly.

As far as the comment about tampons making you lose your virginity....that's ridiculous. People who say that are referring to tampon's tearing a women's hymen. Well, not all women have a hymen to begin with. And other than tampons, even activities like riding a bike or horse, and other sports can break it too. Just because a woman doesn't have a hymen, that doesn't mean she's not a virgin.

Re: Official thread for chicas

if its causing u that much pain.. ure diet must be horrible... when i was not eating well my period's used to make me faint... eat food that raises ure iron level .. drink warm milk and eat boiled eggs during the first day.. stay off cold food like ice cream , sodas etc... a warm water bottle helps a great deal...

and as i have said before.. V8 helped me a HUGE deal!! i dont know why. but it did!!

Re: Official thread for chicas

i call my "aunt" my "saas"...cuz its such a pain in the ass and i hate when it comes....lol

Re: Official thread for chicas

:frowning:

pain- i am not sure if i am ready to face it

I remember when i got them for the first time i was crying like a little baby and my first question was “mom do guys get them too?” she laughed and i cried cause it was not fair…

why couldnt men get that? Why couldnt they either give brith ore take the periods :crying: -

its not fair :naraz:

Re: Official thread for chicas

reminds me of that Dairy Queen commercial with the asian couple..i love that!!

Re: Official thread for chicas

Oh my Godddddddddd, I seriously wanna rip off my legs when i get my pains. I cant even stand properly. My lower back, my stomach and my legs, not to mentio my butt  It’s so terrible. But thankfully its usually just the first day and then I take a couple of advil/tylenol, do not move for atleast 2 hours and then I am atleast able to stand up.

But you know what I just heard recently from my roommate is that wearing high heels increases pains. I was like what the hell?! Everything I own has heels except for my sneakers and flip-flops. So has anybody else heard of this? Is it correct?

And how do you convine your desi old school mom to let you go on birth control? :hoonh: I would love it if my period was regular and lasted only 3 days :naraz:

Re: Official thread for chicas

I’ve never heard of any connection b/t high heels and pains related to periods. Now wearing high heels on a regular basis does mess up your back/heels in the long run…but it has nothing to do with periods.

As far as convincing a desi mom to let me go on birth control…I don’t know about others, but I personally never even discussed it with her(I was 21 when I got on the pill). Heck 'til this day I’ve never mentioned it to her. Why would I? Legally, once your’re 18 you don’t need anyone’s permission. And even though I started taking the pills b/c of acne, it came down to having a “condition” that affected MY body, and as an adult, I made an informed decision to do something about it. After all, I was the one who was paying the price for my “condition”, not my mom. After all, once you’re married, are you gonna ask your mom’s permission to get on the pill? If you’re not gonna ask her permission after marriage, then why do you have to ask for it now? What difference does signing a paper make? Heck why does she even have to know that you’re on the pill?

***Before any goes off on me, let me say this for the record, the above are my personal opinions and I don’t expect everyone to agree with me.

Re: Official thread for chicas

^But if you really have to take it then why hide it from her? If I do take the pill without informing my mother and then somehow she finds out on her own, I dont want her trust in me to be shattered. If I am doing something without telling her, even if it is the right thing, it gives her the wrong message, if you know what I mean.
I think the only reason moms would be against it is because they dont want anybody else finding out and saying weird stuff about their daughters. They dont care what their daughters do after marriage bcoz then they are not their responsibility anymore.
In my case, the pains are bad, but they are bearable, I think. But in the case of like Hiccup or MM when it is just really terrible, I think, if they opt for it, their moms might need a lil less convincing. Ofcourse, I dont know anything abt their moms so wat i m saying could just be a bunch of crap.

Re: Official thread for chicas

well havent heard of it, hmmm and i dont know y it would even fit to this situation either.

awww :hugz: now thats wht i m talking about. I think all the guys here should be thanxing the women in the world for going through all that pain

yea i have heard the same, so isnt it a gr8 excuse for not being a virgin

hmm her pain sounds like mine, just quick question: Did she have any complications in her pregenancy or when she was giving the birth. Did she give a natural birth?

So u were taking a birth control pill for acne, really!! I guess it had to do with hormones or something. Now i never knew that birth control pills reduces pain, wowww thats the first one for me. So are there any side affects of it?

Oh yea i really need to focus on ma food, i rarely eat nutritous food. Now that explains i did faint last month, i guess it was becoz of this. Actually i m anemic too. I have a tendency of drinking sodas with ma meals and coffee in the morning i guess which increases ma pain.

LMAO i hope ma saas wont be like ma aunt

lolz, i asked ma mom the same q too and then i used to say i wish i was a guy. Kher i just wish they had to go through all of this too, to c how painful all of this is.

gal i feel ur pain. I dont think heels got anything to do with it. Wht about taking a shower. I dont know, i have heard this a lot of times from the elders to not take shower in these days or atleast for the first two days? is it true and if yes then y?

Re: Official thread for chicas

passionate: i would have a problem with convincing my mom too. Anyway passionate try talking to ur mom about having these terrible pains and then tell her how u have heard these birth control pills can help u with these pains. Maybe it will help, but i doubt it.

Re: Official thread for chicas

MM - Oh yeah the shower thing, I’ve heard that a lot too. I dont know how true it is but I couldnt imagine not taking a shower for 5 freakin days :yukh: thats just disgusting! And then in the summer :hayaa:

Re: Official thread for chicas

try one of those water bottles, the ones you will with warm water and then just either put it on your tummy, or lay with it under your tummy..they usually help.

i'm not a fan of taking pain killers, so i won't suggest it. warm milk helps..
i know for me a hot coffee or anything hot from timmy's will help - but apparently after doing it for a gazillion years, i find out that coffee isn't that great for you at this time..

Re: Official thread for chicas

lol.. i used to call it khala back in pakistan cause then guys would ask us all types of q
anyway
knock on the wood i never get the pain.. I don’t even feel tat i got my pd.. and about tempons.. Naa never used it and will never use it.. even looking at them scares me.. :bummer:
Now u can imagine wat iam thinking right now :frowning:
