Without arguing whether the technology is or is not functional, you need to have some background in compression and encryption algorithm to appreciate the value of such a solution if it were to be invented. Like I said, the purists have always contended (since the mid 50s I think) that no compression can exceed Shannon’s limit while providing flawless compression without loss of information.
Also, we need to treat the compression technologies in isolation from internet connectivity and hardware capabilities… right now the compression takes up time, but given this advancement, when the hardware becomes more capable (which it certainly will), this will virtually take no time at all.
