I am usually not bothered by such trivialities but unless your name is actually Khairun Nisa you should change your nick cos that title is reserved exclusively for Our Lady Sayyida Fatima az-Zahra salaamullah alayha, the beloved, pure, daughter or Allah’s Messenger sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam. She is Khayrun-Nisa and I think it inappropriate for others to have it as a nick.
I am having trouble understanding this concept. Pls explain. Who reserved it, and how is it exclusive?
The only restriction I know is about the names of Allah, which must be prefixed with Abdul or any other name to show that you are not claiming that adjective (sift) for yourself.

[very true & adding on] ... or a name which is not Allah's sifat being prefixed by 'Abdul'
I’m sorry you feel the need to be offended Asif sahib, although I can indeed assure you that the intent was not to cause any offense.
This name has been used throughout the Indo-Pak region for centuries and I have not heard of the “exclusive” element before.
The fact is I feel greatly honoured to have named myself with one of the titles of Sayyidatun Nisaa’ul Aa’lameen.
BTW, what is the difference between being named, and having a username? And what is the difference between using the name of Fatima, Zahra, and any other title of this Great Lady (peace be upon her)? Afterall it is the Prophet’s (pbuh) Sunnah to name a daughter / girl Fatima, Zahra, Batul…(any other title of Sayyida Fatima).
Lastly, I am afraid I will not be able to oblige you in your request to change my Name.

a side note, hazrat fatima is indeed a very respected personality, but she is not sayyidatun Nissa'ul Aa'Lameen...the mother of hazrat issa AS hazrat maryam is. because it is said in quran. surah alay imran ayat 42 says "o maryam! surely allah has exalted you, purified you, and prefered you for his service over all the women of the worlds" i dont want to be disrespectful of hazrat fatima RT, but just wanted to point that out...
BTW, I am a Sunni and as for the question of Hazrat Fatima and Hazrat Maryam alayhasalaam I think, though I am not 100%, that Allah’s Beloved sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam said to his pure daughter that she will be the leader of the young women in Paradise. This will resolve the conflict insha Allah
In trith we mere mortals can never know the exalted status of either of these exemplary, noble and pure women. I must confess to having a special respect for the darling daughter of Allah’s Beloved Habib though without in any way whatsoever belittling the beloved mother of Hazrat Isa alayhisalam.
As for PakistaniAbroad–ppl like him see nothing but “shirk” in everything. They are the ppl who have ruined Islam from within…
first of all, a hadith if contradicted by an ayat from quran, it is of no meaning or it has to be rejected because Allahs word is more credible and more important.. kapish??? now This should clear it up. and about shirk, ur descriptive phrase says ya shah naqshband imdad kun, now i dont know about u, but i sure do think this is shirk. asking help from any one else other than allah is shirk…is it clear now to you???
Pristine, in answer to your earlier statement, I personally would not have a problem with a Mr/Ms. Rehmat, for I know that this is just an attribute and this is proof that the attribute itself differs from that which it is attributed to (i.e the person), who does not become the attribute…(the person named as such does not in fact become Rehmatal Lil Aalameen). Allah Ta’ala does NOT differ from His Attributes, He is All Knowledge, He is All Love, He is Rehmatul Lil Aalameen. This is a very deep philosophical and logical notion about the Oneness of Allah, and it is sad that people limit themselves to be so narrow minded, and become of the mentality that you can’t say YHVH (Jehovah)…The beauty of Islam lies in the very fact that it is so liberating and logical and reasonable. It breaks my heart to see people who claim to be Muslims and yet will kill each other over such frivolous things. (NB: This does NOT refer to asking questions, which should be encouraged!!).
BTW Thanx for pointing out the spelling mistake, I noticed it in the first post I posted with that signature and subsequently edited it, but just couldn’t be bothered to correct it in the profile…which I have done now…so rest in ease!
TM, your point about Lady Maryam (peace be upon her) is true, the principle about a Hadith being incorrect if it contradicts the Qur’an is also correct, however, the ijma’a on the Hadiths about Lady Fatima also being Leader of Women does not contradict the Qur’an because it does not DENY Lady Maryam that status. In some other Ahadith (I will try and find the exact references for you, time permitting), 4 Ladies of Jannah / Leaders of Women have been named, Ladies Asiya, Maryam, Fatima and I’m not sure of the fourth, but I believe its Lady Khadija (do correct me if I’m wrong).
