Offensive Nick! Please change it!!! (Miss "Khairun Nisa" sahiba)

to the wahabi:

no, asking help from other than Allah is NOT shirk as long as one has the belief that Allah is the ultimate cause of the help; otherwise why do you go to the doctor when you are ill? Why not ask Allah to cure you directly? Why in the Qur’an in the story of Hazrat Sulayman alayhisalam, when Sulayman alayhisalam wants the throne of Bilqis brought to him, does he not ask Alalh directly to bring it instead of asking whether there is anyone in his court who can bring it to him? Isn’t that asking help of other-than-Allah? Isn’t this (nauzubillah) ‘shirk’?

Asking anyone with the belief that the person is capable of delivering, is incorrect. There is no parallel between asking a doctor for cure and asking (for example) your boss to promote you. The doctor is a professional in the field of medicine and is given shifa by Allah. The boss is only there to reward you for your efforts. Your efforts should be to work for the khushnoodi of Allah. If your boss is unfair and does not reward you for your efforts, he is responsible to Him. But if you go boot licking, it is not right and can be considered as shirk.
