Although most would consider it odd, kissing on the lips isn’t that uncommon. For example, parents (mostly moms from what i’ve seen) kiss their children, young and old, on the lips and/ or cheek. I don’t understand it, but I don’t question it either. to each their own.

Yes, so you were talking about parents, not just opposite gender people in general.
