You are some what wrong. There is no reservation in the army officers, however there is reservation in the some of the regiments:
- Sikh Light Infantry: Dalit Sikhs (Chamar & Chura castes)
- Sikh Regiment: Mostly Jatt and othe non-dalit Sikhs
- Mahar Regiment: Dalit hindus from Mahar caste of Maharashtra
- Jatt Regiment: Mostly jat hindus
- Rajput Regiment: Mostly hindu rajputs
- Gorkha Rifles: Gorkha hindus only
- Naga Regiment: Naga tribe hindu/christians only
- Ladakh Scouts: Ladakh & Tibetans only
- Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry: 50% reservation of kashmiri muslims and rest of kashmiris only
- Dogra Regiment: Only for Dogra people
