Consider the team who cannot complete 50 overs one tuk tuk player is needed. He can also play shots if situation needs or allows ( by good stand of openers )

We already have two dot ball experts in Shahzad (60% dot balls in the World Cup) and Haris (56%)

The team couldn't complete 50 overs because of wrong choice of players. If right players are selected then 50 overs will not be a problem.

Lets not mess up Wahab. Let him concentrate on bowling. Our bowling looks soliddddddddd. Wahab, Junaid, Irfan, Sohail Khan, Talha maybe Aamer.....Shinwari, Sadaf, Zia coming up.
The leading contenders for kaptaan of Pakistan are Azhar Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Hafeez, Fawad Alam, Sohaib Maqsood.

Azhar seems like a good dude but he hasn't played an ODI since Jan 2013.
I thought the obvious choice was Sohaib Maqsood, a well educated guy. But seeing him throw his wicket away maybe Sohaib needs to work on his skills first.

Shehzad has to change his approach, it is not optional any more in this day & age where anything less than 85 SR should result in immediate drop. Haris is natural replacement of Misbah at number 4, his dot balls are mostly due to regular top order collapses and he more or less opened in most games. He should bat at 4 with Hafeez at 3 and even then he can't improve SR then should be dropped as well.

I'm really hoping they name Fawad Alam captain. I have seen him captain in a few domestic games and he seems to be an unconventional captain who is not afraid to try new things.

Agree about Hafeez, he is in his mid 30’s. A good bowler but not a good enough batsman to open innings or play at #3](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=3) .
Please lets move on.

I like Fawad Alam, Sohaib, Sarfraz as captain. But what happens if burdening them with captaincy puts to much pressure on them and ruins there careers?
But for short-term, maybe make Younis Khan(ideally Misbah) captain and ease someone else into captaincy role in 2-3 series.

Misbah, Younis, Malik, Hafeez, Afridi.....

but can you afford to throw in a Azhar Ali or Sarfraz Ahmed in the fire without any mentoring at int'l level?
If a young captain fails, i can see Shoaib Malik parachuting in through Sialkot lobby. Last thing Pakistan needs.

Azhar Ali’s name should not even be mentioned. This is the guy whose atrike rate is 65 and makes Misbah look like De Villiers when it comes to strike rotation. He shouldn’t even be part of same 11 but if we have no choice just play him for 6 months and if he bats well then promote him as captain otherwise there is no place for people with such terrible strike rates.

We already have dot specialist Shehzad, looks like another dot specialist Asad Shafiq might be selected as well and Younis Khan hasn’t given up :frowning:

Sarfaraz has played good amount of international cricket and is mature enough, and has shown that he values his wicket more than any other. Azhar Ali can replace Misbah for consolidating inning but he might turn out to be more defensive as captain (as apparent from the SR).

Bad idea bringing Shoaib Malik back..he hasn't produced anything but we can't completely ignore likes of him. Muhammed Hafeez..yes! at the end of day..you do need senior player with plenty of experience in the team too.
Fawad has strike rate of 75+ and he works hard..therefore..he shouldn't be ignored. I would be very disappointed..if they don't look at the likes of Hammad Azam.
